Another definite plus is the size of the Camry 40. This is a large sedan that is well suited for a small family. The features of the 2006 Camry include a spacious trunk, sufficient equipment and, which is not least important for our car enthusiast, solidity. This car does not have many chronic problems and solving them will not require large financial outlays from the owner of the “magpie.”

The 2006 Camry's interior is an excellent continuation of the exterior. It is just as uncomplicated and does not amaze the driver and passengers with its sophistications. At the same time, the simplest configuration is equipped with the necessary options.
The steering wheel of the Toyota Camry 2008 on the Russian market, even in the simplest Comfort configuration, is covered with leather and can be adjusted for reach and tilt. The seats do not have pronounced lateral support, but does the Camry 2007 need it, it is not a sports car or a hot hatchback.
Interior
The trunk of the new Toyota remains the same huge, capable of accommodating a couple of people. There is a little more space in the rear area of the cabin, and there was enough of it before. The rear seats are very comfortable, the backrests are adjustable, it feels like the car was made not for the driver, but for the passenger in the back.
The wide rear folding armrest has a spacious glove compartment and a remote control for the rear window blind and door curtains, climate control in the rear zone, and heated sofa. A test drive of a Toyota Camry showed high comfort for passengers in this part of the cabin.
The interior of the driver's area has improved, wood-look inserts are no longer irritating to the eyes, and the color scheme has become softer and more natural. The center console houses a color display and a unit that controls the climate in the front zone and multimedia control. The control buttons were specially increased in size to make them easier to access when switching while moving.
Tests have shown that the dashboard looks modern with two dials and one small display providing information from the on-board computer. All this is no longer with green, as before on the 2012 or 2013 model, but with a calm bluish backlight.
Unlike the Toyota Camry V40, the steering wheel has become three-spoke and has a very comfortable grip. The front seats have multiple power adjustments. The driver's armrest is retractable and has a device for wireless induction charging of smartphones. The windshield was heated.
Engine and gearbox
With engines and transmissions, the “magpie” has everything at the highest level. Engine volume 2.4 2AZ-FE 167hp. (gasoline, like the larger one) could be coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission with the same number of gears (U250E). With these combinations, reliability problems are very rare and are caused more by high mileage or improper maintenance than by a manufacturing miscalculation. This engine provides the Toyota Camry 2008 with decent dynamics in the city and on the highway. For a long and trouble-free life of the power unit and transmission, you need to change the oil in them in a timely manner, and they will continue to drive and drive.
Engine 2.4 2AZ-FE
More powerful V6 3.5 liter engine 277hp. 2GR-FE was paired only with a 6-speed automatic (U660E). This pair has problems with the automatic transmission: it is not designed for long-term aggressive driving, constant abrupt starts from a standstill, and with such merciless use, the powerful motor breaks its own box.

Both engines have acceptable appetite. The 2.4 engine consumes on average 10 l/100 km, consuming 13.5 in the city, and 7.8 l/100 km on the highway, which is quite low even by modern standards. Oddly enough, the manufacturer claims the same average fuel consumption of 10 l/100 km for the larger power unit, while the V6 3.5 consumes 14.1 liters of fuel in the city, and on the highway its appetite is 7.4. Such low figures are explained by the fact that the larger Camry XV 40 engine is equipped with a transmission with a large number of gears.
Chassis
Toyota Camry 2010 is built on the Toyota K platform with a fully independent spring suspension with MacPherson struts. Which ensures the legendary smoothness and softness. All elements of the 6th generation Camry suspension are very reliable and can easily last more than one hundred thousand kilometers. The brakes can only be disc, and they are, not to say, weak, but with an aggressive driving style, especially with a 277-horsepower engine, they require increased attention. The discs may suffer from overheating, and the caliper guides may become sour.

Finally, a few words regarding what the operational features of this machine are. So, the stabilizer bushings will need to be replaced when the mileage since the last measurement is 30-40 thousand. Although this is the maximum, it is better to do it somewhere around 100-120 thousand.

What about oil? It is replaced every 10,000 km. But! Only synthetic is suitable - 5W-50. If you use something else, you will soon hear a knocking sound on a cold engine.
By the way, many people tune the Camry 40. In principle, this can be justified. Although many believe that tuning the Camry 40 is not necessary, this car itself looks decent. The 7th generation Toyota Camry sedan (restyling 2014) is offered in Russia with three gasoline engines: two four-cylinder units 2.0 (150 hp, 199 Nm) and 2.5 (181 hp, 231 Nm) liters, as well as with a 3.5-liter V6 (249 hp, 346 Nm). The base engine was developed very recently and included in the line-up during the 2014 update. It replaced the previous 2.0 engine, which produced 148 hp. and torque 190 Nm. A feature of the new 2.0-liter Toyota Camry unit is the use of a combined injection system (each cylinder has two nozzles: one in the intake manifold channel, the other directly in the combustion chamber) and a Dual VVT-iW valve timing control mechanism (provides operation according to the Atkinson cycle at low speeds and according to the Otto cycle - at high speeds). The 2.5 and 3.0 engines have not been modernized, so they still use classic distributed injection and the Dual VVT-i system.
The only transmission option available for the Toyota Camry is a 6-speed hydromechanical automatic. The base engine working with it in tandem provides the sedan with acceleration to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 7.2 liters. The top modification of the Toyota Camry 3.5 accelerates to “hundreds” in 7.1 seconds, consuming an average of 9.3 liters of fuel per 100 km.

Let's start with the most basic configuration - the Comfort version (R1). There is no way to call her “poor”. In the “Comfort” version (R1) the car receives:

From 1991 to 1998, there were several Toyota Camry models in parallel. Small-sized models V30 and V40 were produced for the Japanese market. And the American buyer was offered larger cars, the XV10 and XV20, with a modified design.
V30 body for Japan
The 3rd generation of the legendary Japanese sedan was produced from 1990 to 1994. This body is notable for the new options that have appeared. The most expensive trim levels included a driver airbag and ABS. Also in the expensive Camry V30, the developers installed rear wheel steering (4WS). At the same time, there was a significant price gap between the basic and top configurations.

The creation of the fourth generation Toyota Camry was accompanied by a serious economic crisis in the land of the rising sun. In this regard, the developers focused on the practicality of all V40 trim levels.
Camry V40
The power plants of the V40 generation were inherited from the previous V30 model (petrol 1.8 4S-FE, 2.0 3S-FE). Only the diesel engine has changed; instead of the 2.0 2C-T, a 2.2 3C-T (with a power of 90 hp) was installed.
Independent, MacPherson-type spring suspension was installed front and rear. Improved four-wheel maneuverability of the Camry V40 was achieved through the use of the 4WS system.
The 1996 V40 update affected the optics; they became more modern. Also available in the middle trim levels: wood trim, airbags, ABS, remote control key and leather steering wheel.
Body for America XV10 1991 - 1996
Camry, designated XV10, appeared in the United States in 1991 and was sold in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and coupe. The wheelbase of the car was increased to 2620 mm, the length of the body was 4725 mm, and the width was 1770 mm.

The American version of the XV10 was equipped only with gasoline engines: 2.2 5S-FE 125 (130) hp, 3.0 3VZ-FE 185 horses, and after an update in 1994 - 3.0 1MZ-FE 188 horsepower. There were 2 gearboxes - 5 manual transmission and 4 automatic transmission.

XV20 – the fifth generation of the Japanese sedan
The XV20 model appeared in 1996, replacing the first Camry XV10 wide body. But in Japan, the XV 20 was called the Toyota Camry Gracia until 1998, because at the same time a “narrow” version of the V40 was produced.

In the fifth generation cars, the interior design was completely changed. The interior used high-quality plastic with wooden inserts. The instrument panel was harmoniously combined with the interior. The level of sound insulation in the cabin was not satisfactory. A comfortable position behind the wheel has been designed for the driver. The steering column and lumbar support were adjustable.
The gasoline engines used in the fifth generation Camry sedan were made in two variations: four-cylinder 2.2 5S-FE with a power of 140 hp. and V6 2.5 2MZ-FE, producing 200 horses. This body, like the XV10, did not offer diesel engines. But in the Japanese market, the XV20 retained all-wheel drive in some trim levels.

The V6 2.5 2MZ-FE petrol engine was not offered on the global market for the fifth generation XV20. Instead, the cars were equipped with an older internal combustion engine - V6 3.0 1MZ-FE (194 hp). Also available to buyers was a four-cylinder 2.2 5S-FE with 131 hp.
Simple, strict style
The design of the car looks simple, Toyota has never been an innovator in the field of appearance, competitors are more beautiful. There are narrow headlights, directed downwards, equipped with halogen or xenon lamps. The rounded shapes of the Camry's hood flow like lines towards the strict radiator grille, which in the restyling is covered with chrome.
The bumper is equipped with optics washers and fog lights recessed at the bottom. Restyling brought a slightly different bumper with PTF in a chrome trim.
On the side there are powerful massive forms with a slight swelling of the arches. The business-class image is supported by chrome window surrounds and a straight line leading to the rear lights. The rear lights are identical in shape to the front ones. The trunk lid has a raised shape, creating a powerful image together with the massive bumper.
It was the concentration of design on rigor that pleased officials, who are the main consumers of the model. The car looks simple, but is relatively luxurious. The dimensions of the sedan have grown:

Disadvantages of the Toyota Camry in the XV40 body
Engine V6 3.5 2GR-FE
The Sorokovka is a great car, but there are no perfect cars, so even it has its flaws. Some car enthusiasts consider the lack of a diesel engine and station wagon form factor, extremely soft suspension and weak lateral support for the seats of the sixth generation Camry to be disadvantages. But this is not a miscalculation of the engineers - this is the philosophy of the 2011 Camry.
The troubles that await you in the cabin include: insufficiently wear-resistant seat upholstery materials, both fabric and leather, the button coating is also not known for its durability, which quickly wears off, squeaks often appear, sound insulation is not the standard for cars of this class.
If you take sufficient care of the car and observe maintenance intervals, the Toyota Camry 2006 is unlikely to surprise you with technical malfunctions and problems. But there are units that require increased attention from the owner. The Camry ACV40 automatic transmission with a 3.5 engine requires frequent oil changes, but this will not protect it from breakdown if the driving style is too aggressive. A V6 engine can overheat due to a leaky coolant hose; this problem was eliminated in restyled cars by replacing the hose with a metal tube.
Both engines run only on synthetic oil; prolonged use of the other can lead to damage to the VVT-I couplings. Refueling with frankly bad fuel will cause the oxygen sensor to fail.
Features of the car in the 40th body
Restyling of the Toyota Camry SV40 took place in mid-2009, then the shape of the front bumper changed and the radiator trim was slightly narrowed. The appearance was decorated with turn signal indicators built into the back of the side-view mirrors. Camry V40, the photo of which is located below, is a pre-restyling model.
The interior of the cabin has become somewhat different due to the color of the center console; the bluish plastic on it was changed to silver. The monochrome screen of the car radio head unit was replaced with a color display. The post-restyling car, together with the new body brand, received the designation Toyota Camry ACV40. We must pay tribute to the Japanese manufacturers; there are practically no weak points in the Toyota Camry in the 40th body. Of course, the thin paintwork of the body loses its shine due to frequent washing, but rust does not break through anywhere, even in places of chips and minor damage. After two years of operation in Russia, the chrome parts will begin to bloom with rust, but only because of our public utilities, which generously water the roads with caustic chemicals. The activity of utility workers is manifested in the swelling of the coating on the windshield wipers and the appearance of cracks in the decorative trim near the trunk lid.
On the Camry SV40, the headlight washer nozzles often failed for a simple reason: they became clogged with dirt and the fluid did not flow through; in this case, thorough cleaning and blowing of the nozzles helped.

There were 5 trim levels of the Toyota Camry 2008 presented on the Russian market. All of them were equipped only with gasoline engines and front-wheel drive (in other markets there were all-wheel drive and hybrid versions).
The most affordable - Comfort (R1) with a 2.4 engine and manual transmission was not poorly equipped:

High sales have supplied the market with a huge number of cars, most of them with the “correct” 2.4-liter engine. Cars are sold for 400-700 thousand rubles, and as you understand, the price tag here is a clear indicator of condition. Mileages often slip, so it is useless to give advice to look for models that have traveled less than 200 thousand kilometers.
