Company Toyota prepared a restyled version Camry 2015 for the American market, although the current generation began to be sold relatively recently. The debut date of the European version of the car is not yet known.

The restyled sedan has become slightly longer (+45 mm) compared to its predecessor. Visual changes concern the front bumper, which received enlarged air intake openings, a radiator grille and head optics. By optimizing the shape of the side mirrors, the level of wind noise has been reduced.
Specifications
The engine line of the updated sedan includes two units: a 2.5-liter 180-horsepower and a 270-horsepower 3.5-liter. At the same time, the automaker also retained the 200-horsepower hybrid modification.
Particular attention was paid to the XSE version. As part of the restyling, the steering and suspension settings were improved, which makes this version of the car one of the sportiest in the history of the brand.
A new dashboard appeared inside the car and sound insulation was improved.
The palette of body color options includes two new shades – silver and ruby red. As a result of restyling, the Camry acquired the features of its sister Avalon sedan, but still retained its individuality.

Toyota Camry is a global model of the Japanese automaker and is distributed in all leading world markets. In our country, it has gained fame as a car for low-ranking officials or mid-level entrepreneurs, but in other markets its popularity is indicated by a completely different category of consumers.
The largest car market in the world belongs to the USA, and there this model is also very popular in its segment (in absolute terms, in terms of sales, it is second only to pickup trucks - the most popular cars in America). What is the reason for such high popularity and are there any fundamental differences compared to our market?
Restyling Toyota Camry 2014
The car did not receive a radically new appearance. It has preserved the spirit of Toyota from the 80s of the last century. What was valued and accepted before is still in demand today.
This is reliability, predictability, comfort. However, the new model still received a restyling. Toyota Camry has become more toned, new sharp edges have appeared. But despite the new changes, everyone’s favorite Camry is recognizable in the car.
The status of the car is emphasized by an even more expressive and elegant design. Restyling affected almost everything. In addition to the changed appearance, the car received new technical indicators and an improved interior design.
Option Differences
There are differences, and they are quite large.
For each market, marketers and engineers position the model in accordance with consumer needs.
And if in Russia, over most of its territory, the issue of heated seats (both front and rear) is quite pressing and problematic, while cars that are not equipped with this seemingly small option will not be able to claim an impressive audience. The same situation has developed in the US market.
Most Americans do not necessarily need heated seats (only optional), but the presence of climate control (and four-zone) is a must. And if we can save money on the configuration and install a simple air conditioner, on the overseas market it is impossible to find a Camry 2015 model without an advanced climate system.
The same situation applies to other units. Our consumer, due to more modest financial capabilities, can be content with the old 2.0-liter engine. Americans, as lovers of powerful power units, if they choose this option, it will be only in a turbocharged version and always in compliance with all environmental standards (no one would think of removing the catalyst and changing the standard firmware).
Interior design
The interior space of the new model is also worthy of attention. The car has increased comfort. This is evidenced by the convenience for second-row passengers.
They now have heated seats and the ability to control acoustics using additional panels.
Rear passengers can also control climate control and window shades.
The side windows are equipped with mechanical sunblinds, and the rear window is electrically operated.
As for the microclimate system, it now has an air purification option. This function not only cleans it, but also moisturizes it. The multimedia system is also amazing.
Excellent touch display, high-quality acoustics with speakers.
The sophisticated design of the interior perfectly emphasizes the status of the owner. The increased internal space is also pleasing. The new sedan provides comfort thanks to improved sound insulation systems.
Measures are being taken to reduce noise and vibration. The harshness is also under control, as is the sound of the acoustics. You can be sure that the cabin will be truly quiet.
Differences in appearance
Appearance, as one of the most important factors when choosing a potential car, also plays an important role. Unlike the domestic model, the foreign design is distinguished by a more aggressive radiator grille, a pronounced lower “lip” with heavy fangs and a futuristic honeycomb radiator grille that borders the huge manufacturer’s emblem. The rear lights are necessarily equipped with LED optics (more reliable and durable compared to conventional halogen headlights). All the aggressiveness of the design is very striking even in the photo.
The interior space of the 2015 American Camry is also arranged a little differently. The manufacturer for the American market abandoned wood-look inserts (although in this market there were no special complaints about them, unlike in the domestic market). These inserts were replaced with artificial leather around the perimeter of the front panel. Also, a more advanced station is used as a multimedia complex, equipped by default with 8 speakers, a rear view camera, and parking sensors.
Suspension features
Motion is where the model's biggest differences are noticeable.
For the domestic market, the suspension settings have been changed due to the characteristics of most domestic roads (low-quality road surfaces) for better passenger comfort.
In the American version of 2015, the suspension is very soft and rolly, there is no constant need to deal with holes and potholes, as a result of which sharpness in turns is largely lost, this model is prone to large rolls.
Advantages and disadvantages
It is generally accepted that the Toyota Camry is intended for people who respect comfort and smooth, without aggression, movement on the roads. The Japanese business class car successfully combines high-quality assembly, ergonomics, a high level of comfort and luxury, for which it has received the status of an almost ideal car.
In their reviews, most owners include among other advantages: attractive, solid design, cozy and spacious interior, soft and comfortable suspension, low fuel consumption. Among the shortcomings of the 2014 Camry are the lack of responsiveness of the steering wheel and large rolls in corners.

Camry 55 appearance
A noticeable change in the 2015 Camry's exterior design is the large grille, which is reminiscent of a Lexus, adding an aggressive look. The photo shows that the front bumper has become more intricate, and air intake holes have been added. The shape of the front optics has become more complex, and daytime running lights have been added. The general impression from the front of the Camry 55 is that the car looks like a predator.
The changes in the design of the rear of the car are not so obvious; at first glance, it seems that only the lights have been changed. But the rear was completely changed: the wide chrome “saber” above the license plate was replaced by a thin, sharp “sword”, the bumper became a different shape, and the design and location of the reflectors changed.
Exterior design
Externally, the car will become more bulky and bloated. Due to its fullness, it will appear large. This distinguishes it from previous versions. The 2014 Toyota Camry has new alloy wheels.
Their design is as excellent as the overall appearance of the car itself. As for the head optics, it has received a modern design and sophistication. The headlights also began to look more elegant.
The new Toyota Camry received a new bumper. It embodied youth sportiness combined with respectability, wealth and elegance. There is only one conclusion - the car looks great from the outside.
Engine and transmission
The Camry 55 was equipped with three gasoline engines:
2.0 6AR-FSE 150 hp
2.5 2AR-FE 181 hp
3.5 V6 2GR-FE 249 hp
The 2.5 2AR and 3.5 2GR engines remained the same as on the Camry 50, but the available 2.0 6AR replaced the equal-volume 2.0 1AZ. If the previous two-liter engine developed 148 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque, then the power of the new 6AR-FSE is 150 hp. and 199 N*m.
The new engine has become more technologically advanced; the compression ratio has increased to 12.7, a new VVT-iW intake variable timing system, and combined fuel injection have appeared. These innovations have made the 2021 Camry with a two-liter engine faster and more economical. Acceleration to hundreds is declared by the manufacturer in 10.4, the previous modification had 12.5. The new engine allows the use of 92 gasoline.
The new 6-speed automatic plays an important role in reducing fuel consumption and changing the dynamics of the Camry 55 with a two-liter engine. In the 2011 Camry, the 2.0 engine was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Controllability and safety
The steering wheel is large and can be adjusted in reach and height using an electric drive. Electric power steering allows for smooth cornering. The installed VSC system reduces the risk of skidding when turning and minimizes the possibility of loss of control on a slippery road.
The traction control system has the ability, in automatic mode, to reduce torque and optimize the operation of the braking system, which ultimately allows you to restore traction. Already in the initial configuration, the Camry is equipped with systems such as ABS, BAS and EBD.
The brake pedal has clear feedback, which allows the car to not change its trajectory even during heavy braking, providing the driver with complete control over the situation.
Features and differences from Camry 50
Camry 55 engineers tried to make the sedan sporty and aggressive, and worked on the shortcomings of the previous model. The main changes that distinguish the Camry 2014 from the pre-restyling:
- new appearance (predatory front design, modified rear),
- three-spoke steering wheel,
- different dashboard with a large on-board computer screen and blue backlight,
- large multimedia screen,
- modified climate control unit,
- wireless charger,
- pair of 2.0 6AR engine and six-speed automatic transmission.
The changes also affected options and additional equipment. The XV55 now comes with a windshield that heats the entire surface, not just the resting area of the wipers. A blind spot monitoring system has become available, and heated rear seats are now available in mid-range trim levels. The updated Camry is equipped with a preload differential; the locking coefficient is not great, but the car has become more stable.
Weaknesses and advantages of Camry 55
Camry 2015 is a successor to the traditions of previous generations, retaining the main advantages and disadvantages of its predecessors. The traditional advantages of the Camry are known, although they are questioned:
- reliability,
- ease of maintenance,
- solidity,
- profitability,
- high demand in the secondary market.
The disadvantages of Camry 55 will not be a revelation for interested car enthusiasts:
- poor sound insulation,
- poor controllability,
- high theftability,
- soft paint coating,
- insufficient high beam.
2021 Camry Update
The updated Toyota Camry 55 went on sale on the Russian market in April 2021. The appearance of the sedan was slightly changed, and some options became available. Fog lights based on diodes are now available in all versions. LED headlights are installed in the Elegance Plus and more expensive configurations. The color scheme of the sedan has been replenished with a new brown shade. The Prestige option package that appeared in the updated version offers a new radiator grille design and turn indicators in the front bumper.
If previously the Toyota Camry Exclusive was offered only with brown leather, now it is possible to order the Exclusive with black leather trim. The technical characteristics of the updated car have not changed.
Prices and options for Toyota Camry 2014
The car is available in several trim levels (Standard, Classic, Comfort, Prestige, Elegance and Luxury). The price of a 2014 Toyota in the minimum configuration starts at 969,000 rubles. The cost of the maximum configuration will exceed the mark of 1,479,000 rubles.
