The car chosen for testing was a Russian-assembled Toyota Camry 3500 with a stifled engine - 249 hp. Everything is as always - we drive it to the stand, fasten it and take measurements using the factory firmware. Usually from 3 to 5 races - just to be sure))) With the factory firmware we get 235 hp and 347 Nm of torque. We fell a little short in terms of power, but we came out on top in terms of torque. In practice, it’s rare for a car to reach factory specifications... So everything is fine here

Now let's start measuring the firmware that is advertised on the Internet. Option stage1 - three races, rest the car and again three races. We get almost identical numbers.

stage1 "from the side" - 257 hp and 369 Nm (increase 22 hp and 22 Nm) In principle, as advertised, 265 hp never worked out for us, but 257 is also almost close. We’ll make a discount on gasoline, weather, etc.. For comparison, a little earlier we “drove” a Highlander with the same engine on the stand. There, on a third-party version of stage1, they received 259 hp and 366 Nm. So everything is stable. The third-party version Stage2, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations... no matter how many races we did, we were not able to get the promised 292 hp even close... However, just as we could not get them on the Highlander.

At stage2 we got 269 hp and 362 Nm of torque. (An increase of 34 hp and 15 Nm) Of course, you say, for an atmosphere an increase of 34 hp is already a feat and miracles. But don’t forget that the engine seems to be stifled from the factory... and in advertising they tell us 292 hp.... Again, for comparison, on the Highlander on the third-party stage2 version, 275 hp 364 Nm were obtained. That is, almost the same numbers

Then we start taking logs and try to configure the car to our “taste”. At the same time, we look at which fuel map changes produce results, and which ones do not, or, on the contrary, the result is negative. We spent about two hours setting it up. this is what we got:

Option stage1 from ISS - 264hp and 380Nm (Increase 29hp and 33Nm)

Stage2 option from ISS - 285hp and 406Nm (increase 50hp and 59Nm) - Almost close to advertising)))

Again, for comparison, with the Highlander we “removed” 286 hp…. Stability…

Conclusion: you should not believe advertisements that are not supported by evidence. And of course, the most effective result can be obtained only with an individual approach to tuning the car... Trust your iron horse to the professionals
