We change brushes for prevention.
First of all, we remove the terminals from the battery.
Let's start with genes. Replacing brushes on a gene is as difficult as replacing, for example, a light bulb. -Pull off the chips -Unscrew the right cover -Unscrew the brushes -Replace with new ones, put them back together.
Now the starter is a little more complicated, it needs to be removed, it is held on by two bolts, you first need to remove the lower part of the air filter box, remove the chip and unscrew the wire from the retractor, it can be disassembled intuitively, the brushes with the starter cover assembly are changed and it is put back together, it is advisable to clean everything gears and fill with fresh lubricant. When assembling, be careful with the retractor, there are copper studs on it; you need to tighten the nuts very gently and do not overtighten. Lastly, I’ll tell you about one fucking detail, like a retaining ring on the rotor shaft from the side of the starter cover/brushes, it’s not difficult to remove it, but to put it back, at first there were some confusion, the fact is that the shaft did not extend out of the housing to the required length so that it could be I had to put on a washer and a locking ring, but the groove for it was stupidly invisible, everything was tight, it sat exactly, damn, you can’t put the locking ring on. You need to remove the stator with the rotor, put brushes on top and press on the shaft from below (resting against a table, for example), put on a washer and a retaining ring, then stick this structure back in. If anyone knows an easier way, please share.
