Next year, the Japanese predict an increase in Toyota Corolla sales by 40% compared to the previous year.
It is planned to attract new clients. This is about 70% of young people! This audience requires a bright, solid design. Look at the new Toyota Corolla 2013-2014. She is serious, expensive, and yet still recognizable. Just look at this powerful radiator grille, which with its chrome-plated blades pierces the large headlights, making the look of the car even more intriguing.
general information
Today we have a video review of the 2008 Toyota Corolla. Toyota Corolla is a global car. It is being created for the market of several countries at once - the USA, Europe, and Japan. The E 150 model appeared back in 2006. And it came to Russia in 2007. But for years it has not required any serious repairs. Only consumables, stabilizer bushings, and front brake linings are changed, and that’s where the car’s maintenance ends. The car is still in demand on the secondary market.
Five-speed gearbox, sometimes five-speed manual-based robots were installed on these models. But they didn't become popular. The mechanics are better and lose less value on the market.
Interior
In the interior of the Toyota Corolla 2013, one of the main attractions is the large color monitor with a touchscreen. This is a multimedia system that can be equipped with a navigation system and, of course, there is a rear view camera.
The interior itself is made of good materials; there are no complaints about most of them. Unfortunately, our armrest is not leather, but, firstly, it is there, and, secondly, it will definitely come in handy, especially if the car has a CVT gearbox.
Perhaps not everyone will like the glossy inserts, but they make the car more solid. And aluminum inserts make it more modern.
The steering wheel is adjustable both in reach and height. As for the seats, in addition to the standard settings, there is also height adjustment, which is convenient.
In the Toyota Corolla, it was previously possible to intuitively find all the controls, which is not surprising; there are few of them in budget cars. But times are changing. There are more and more buttons and some are not very easy to find. For example, the seat heating buttons are located in an exotic location. Behind the gearshift knob there is a special compartment with buttons, there is also a cigarette lighter and a USB connector.
Specifications
After 2010, an updated version appeared. The bumpers and rear lights were slightly changed, and a sixth gear appeared in the manual.
The hood is heavy and opens on a conventional mechanical stand. 1.6 liter VVT-I naturally aspirated engine. The motor appeared in the 1990s. There is an intelligent valve opening time control system. On the intake and exhaust shafts, special gears can shift the phases and slightly delay the opening of the valves for a certain period and, on the contrary, accelerate the engine when necessary.
The engine is a chain engine, the chain is maintenance-free, and up to 200 thousand mileage it does not need to be touched at all. Iridium spark plugs are also not serviced before this mileage. But the engine is demanding on the quality of oil. Economical - in the city up to 8.5-9 liters per 100 kilometers, on the highway - about 6.5 liters.
Salon
There is practically no room at the knees at the back. The car is not very high, it is quite difficult to straighten your back from behind without resting your head on the ceiling. The regular armrest is hidden in a cover when not in use. Two cup holders, ashtray. Smooth dashboard. Some of the plastic in the cabin is soft and falls under your fingers. Air ducts, audio system with volume control and radio, search for MP-3 files.
The heated seats are a little awkward; you have to reach through the lever to reach the power button. But in principle the heating is good and effective. The engine compartment is well insulated, the engine runs quietly, and virtually no vibration is transmitted from the running engine. But there is practically no noise from the wheel arches.

Greetings to all who stopped by!
I have long wanted to make a video review of my speaker, but it never worked out (((I only shot short videos from the life of the Corolla!
And the other day I managed to shoot a full video review... Thanks to Roman Mikhailov romacorolla!
I present to your attention the work of Roman:
Enjoy watching!
In the video, Roman asked to use music without copyright, so here is another series of “home” exciting videos with cool tracks:
This video shows how front rock genres are played
Plunge into my atmosphere!)
a little flex and in the middle of the video the sound quality in the cabin
Well, how can we do without rap in the garage))
When a Japanese concern releases a new version of a beloved model, there are plenty of people willing to test drive each new generation Toyota Corolla, both among amateurs and professionals. Each review is a unique description compiled by competent drivers, auto mechanics and other professionals, helping a person appreciate all the advantages and disadvantages of the car.
Test drive 2008 model
The 2008 Toyota Corolla belongs to the tenth generation, and its review is part of a large test that fully describes the various editions of the car. One of the popular versions of the Corolla of this release is the version with a five-speed manual, which is more practical and does not lose so much in price on the secondary market.
As a rule, a test-drive begins with an external description and ends with an overview of interior comfort, including technical parameters and driving performance. The model has a typical Corolla body, optics and other external features.
A few words can be said about the metal - even if chips appear on the outer part, it does not begin to rust, which indicates the high quality of the raw materials used.
You can watch the video test by following the link.
The presented review includes a description and test drive of a car with a 1.6 liter engine produced in 2008, the gear shift of which is carried out by mechanics. The chain motor does not require chain maintenance until almost 200,000 km, like other elements under the hood. The main requirement is high quality oil, and then the machine will not often need servicing, ensuring long-term and efficient operation.
It can be noted that there is enough space in the cabin both in the back seat and in the front. And the absence of a central tunnel at the rear makes it possible for passengers to sit comfortably not only on the sides, but also in the middle.

The driver is provided with an optitronic dashboard, which not only has an original modern design, but is also accessible and simple. The plastic, which is soft in some places, smoothly flows into areas of high rigidity, and its quality is impeccable.
A large test drive is impossible without a description of the features of engine control and operation. In this model, one can note the almost silent operation of the engine while standing still, without vibrations or oscillations.
You should also evaluate the suspension, which Toyota has a certain optimal combination in various models - MacPherson strut paired with a torsion beam. It helps smooth out road imperfections, making the ride smoother and smoother. The steering allows you to confidently hold the course, even in the event of sharp turns or the need to weave in different directions.
A manual transmission is distinguished by a smooth transition from one speed to another, accompanied by a light, barely audible click. It notifies you of changes in speed. Sound insulation of the cabin from what is happening on the street is at an average level.
The 2008 Corolla is a practical and reliable car; it will work for its owner, and not vice versa.

What a discussion... I don’t agree with many, so I’ll add my 2 cents: I owned a Lancer X from the showroom (2008, 1.5/109 hp, 5-speed manual transmission, the poorest configuration) until the summer of 2012 Mileage 140 thousand km; Now the Korolka, purchased in May 2015 with a mileage of 31 thousand km. (2008 model year, 1.6/124 hp, 5-speed manual transmission, the poorest configuration), today I have driven +45 thousand km. General: Family cars for 2-3 people, with very similar interiors, equally uncomfortable front seats (I put the shaggy ones from Ford in shock - the comfort is two heads higher, and these are designed for a guy under 150 kg), equally crappy PG; both engines did not receive a drop of oil during the service interval, both machines are unpretentious and durable. And now about the sad thing. 1) Design. The purchase of Lancer (in my case) is 95% his fault. Just what young people need, and older people are not ashamed to get into it. The Corolla, in my opinion, is the most sloppy of all the slops of that time. Only a colleague from Citroen can compete with the designer of the Corolla E150 for the title a la “the most complete pervert” (no offense, IMHO); 2) Salon. The Korolka is a loser: “Oars” in the rear, no alternative to heated seats (Mitsu has two modes); In the Korolka’s cabin, everything is no less harmonious than Lanz’s, BUT there are absolutely no places where you can tuck some gadget without compromising the aesthetics. Among the advantages of the Corolla: 2 e.g. steering wheel adjustments versus 1 for the Lancer, 4 PB (2 front + 2 front sides) versus 3 (2 front + 1 - driver’s knee protection). I don’t know if Mitsyka had it, Toyota got the (useful for me) function of rear seat belts: to secure a child seat with belts (without an Isofix fastening), fasten the seat with a belt, pull the belt all the way and release it. That's it, the belt holds the chair tightly. To remove the lock, you need to unfasten and completely rewind the belt. 3) Motor. In both options, not a gram of oil needs to be added during service intervals. 1.5/109 horses, in my opinion, is more reliable when overtaking a truck uphill: third gear, gas to the floor - and this projectile fires instantly, not giving the “teachers” a chance to react and interfere with the maneuver. 1.6/124 hp in a similar situation - an outright vegetable
