The inner corners of the headlights flow into the thin lines of what appears to be a radiator grille, connected by the company logo. The main grille is positioned lower with 4 horizontal bars in the style of the new GLE. The bumper protrudes from the optics; at its edges there are vertical inserts with PTF. Below is a huge plastic trim, emphasizing the design of the RAV4 2019-2020 and hinting at off-road capabilities.
The style of the front end in the radiator grille and the form of installation of fog lights vary depending on the configuration. The same applies to other parties. The profile looks incredibly cool due to the lines going from the bumper to the A-pillars, the lower lines emphasizing the shape of the sills. The wheel arches are framed in plastic with rough transitions. Moving higher, the already boring feature of the black spoiler support, from which the strip goes to the pillars, looks nice. On other trims, the entire top and A-pillar are made of black plastic.
Roof rails can be decorative, or you can install large real racks under an additional trunk. By the way, the rear-view mirrors are mounted on a foot; their shape is pleasant upon closer inspection.
The rear of the Toyota RAV4 XA50 crossover resembles a Jeep; this is done by narrow headlights connected to a thick chrome insert. The huge trunk lid at the top is equipped with a spoiler, which stands on black linings. The spoiler is traditionally equipped with a brake light. The wheelbase has increased, which is now not 2.56, but 2.66 m, and the ground clearance has increased. Now the ground clearance is 197 mm. Together with the wheel size of 17-18 inches, such a serious ground clearance provides the crossover with decent cross-country ability.
It is worth noting such a feature of the new body as the use of durable, but relatively lightweight materials for the manufacture of the body. This made it possible to maintain approximately the same mass (1.555-17.35 tons) while increasing the size. The volume of the trunk has also increased, into which you can fit up to 547 liters of cargo. When folding the second row of seats, the compartment's capacity increases to 1,655 cubic meters.

Inside, a lot has changed for the better, except for the steering wheel. The 3-spoke steering wheel is the first thing the driver sees, but it has practically not been changed. This is the same steering wheel with many buttons, but comfortable.
The interior is upholstered in leather, the color of which is chosen by the buyer; in minimal configurations, the upholstery is fabric. The manufacturer has improved sound insulation and the quality of plastic; there are no squeaks now. There is enough cross-country ability for city and country roads.
- Oleg, Podolsk. Toyota RAV-4 is a stylish and high-quality car. I drive a car manufactured in 2015. I took the crossover on pre-order and placed the order immediately after the presentation. I have a top-end 180-horsepower engine with an automatic transmission. The six-speed gearbox actively switches gears and puts you in a fighting mood. I want to drive faster, both the engine and the gearbox allow this, but the high body and high ground clearance of 200 mm do not allow this. When making sharp maneuvers, the car rolls noticeably, and intensive acceleration is hampered by lateral rocking and mediocre aerodynamics (due to the high body). Because of this, increased fuel consumption - in dynamic mode and when loaded, consumption reaches 13-14 liters per 100 km. But I liked the car, as did my whole family - my wife, children and mother-in-law.

I don't pretend to be a dynamic driver, and I don't need to prove anything. The version with a two-liter engine produces 146 horsepower, but the CVT slightly dampens the engine's capabilities - after all, it is designed for leisurely driving. But the dynamics are still sufficient for the city; the car confidently keeps up with the speed rhythm even among ordinary cars. And the ride is normal. The suspension is moderately stiff, and the ground clearance of 200 mm is enough for light off-road use. And if necessary, you can use all-wheel drive.
- Marat, Tuymazy (Bashkortostan). I took a car in white, with all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. The basic two-liter engine does not have enough stars in the sky; it is distinguished by gradual and smooth acceleration, without a spark, so to speak. The stiff suspension adds excitement, but the car still rolls and sways, so the RAV-4 should not be compared with sedans. The spacious trunk can accommodate several large suitcases, and the rear seat can accommodate three short passengers. I liked the high ground clearance of 195 mm, almost like real all-terrain vehicles. But hanging body overhangs greatly reduce approach and departure angles, and this negatively affects cross-country ability. The car consumes an average of 12 liters per 100 km. I would like the Japanese to finally switch to more modern turbo engines.

I liked the car: confident acceleration, pleasant taxiing - no complaints, excellent ride quality, roomy. A good family car with an expressive appearance.
The adaptive cruise control was very impressive, allowing the RAV4 V to practically drive itself, controlling the distance to the car in front and keeping itself in its lane. I had never driven a Japanese car before, and in the end: curiosity about the brand, expressive appearance and interest in the hybrid setup won out.
The new 2021 Toyota RAV4 is cool, big and feature-rich. Before that there were a lot of cars and crossovers too. I was pleased with the consumption; if you drive up to 110 km/h, then the consumption is 5.5.
The trunk is large, there is a lot of space for rear passengers, I really like the seat ventilation - it’s just super in summer, the leather is also of good quality. The dashboard is soft, all the rotary buttons are comfortable. The graphics in the monitor are not very good, the navigation is so-so, but I heard there is a company where they change the module in this head unit and everything will be fine, the main screen is a touchscreen, a very small tank of 55 liters and a turbine is really missing.
I tested it and drove about 20 km! The car is like heaven and earth from the last generation! Much softer, more dynamic, consumption has dropped by at least a liter. The car feels bigger and steers smoother. The seat cushion is short, like all Asians! Three modes, depending on which the color of the backlight changes: eco, drive and sport!
The trunk in the new RAF 4 is noticeably larger. Instead of a spare tire, there is a spare tire, but the gaps are such that apparently a spare tire will fit in if you have a wheel and tire! The number on the back door rattles terribly. Audio quality is average. The most advantageous color is white mother-of-pearl (+ RUR 26,000). Active cruise control follows the car in front, steers itself when leaving the lane and returns the car if there are markings.
Plus reads signs and displays a warning about the speed limit on the panel; if exceeded, it turns red. The key fob remained the same, wireless charging appeared on the panel, and when the seat is transformed, the pillows now do not fall down, but only the backrests lie down. There is a new four-camera all-round viewing system. The machine is definitely a plus in terms of robotization and technology development!
