About wheel bolt pattern on Toyota Camry

The bolt pattern of rims for a Toyota Camry, regardless of generation and year of manufacture, is a typical parameter that is selected by the manufacturer and serves to ensure that a new set of rims can be properly selected and installed, regardless of their size. The second name for the parameter has become widespread - drilling. It appears in some sources. To avoid confusion for a beginner, this is the same parameter, just with a different name.

The importance of this value is to make it possible to understand exactly how the wheel is attached to the elements of the chassis. The popular and widespread business sedan Toyota Camry is produced at several brand factories in Japan, the USA and Europe, and is supplied to all countries of the world. The model has a classic design and is popular among businessmen and officials.

Appearance and wheel bolt pattern of the Camry

Wheel bolt pattern for Toyota Camry

The rims on which the vehicle is operated have a direct impact on its behavior on the road surface, handling, dynamic qualities and many other factors. Knowing such parameters as the wheel bolt pattern for the Camry and the wheel size that are allowed by the manufacturer, you can select and purchase wheels and tires for it from a very wide range. There are both original factory wheels and tires and those made in an individual design. With the help of the latter, you can decorate your car in any way you like and make it stand out from the stream of similar ones.

Most often, car owners change tires and wheels due to the change of season, but this also happens due to high wear or the need to improve the appearance with tuning. You can leave the wheels the same and change only the tires according to the season, but it is still recommended to have a couple of sets in total.

Important!

Toyota Camry has gained popularity due to its legendary reliability.

Typically, improving the overall appearance of a car starts with the wheels. This is due to the fact that the attractiveness of a car depends 70% on the size and quality of the latter. Often it is not enough to simply improve the design of a car by installing new elements and parts. It is important that these improvements improve operating efficiency and machine performance. Poor-quality tuning can only harm the car and its owner. Therefore, it is necessary to select and install original components that meet all quality and safety parameters.

A new set of disks must comply with the recommended factory parameters. This applies to both drilling and dimensions of the width, diameter and offset of the rim. It is also important to choose the correct tires, since inaccurate sizes will negatively affect performance. The bolt pattern parameter determines whether the selected disk can be installed on the machine. Often, car owners want to install specific models of wheels on their car so much that they use special adapter rings that change the diameter of the hole for the hub and allow them to select the desired drilling parameter.

Note!

Tires are more important to vehicle handling than wheels.

Important characteristics and wheel bolt pattern parameters for Camry 40

Bolt pattern parameters for Toyota wheels

Regardless of the car brand, the bolt pattern is designated PCD, which stands for Pitch Circle Diameter. This applies to all Toyota models. To make it easier to understand the meaning of the term, it is explained as the required number of holes for the wheel bolts and the diameter of the circle on which they are located. The data presented is important when choosing a new set of wheels so that there are no difficulties in the purchasing process.

On a note!

Knowing the drilling value, you can choose the most suitable and optimal ones from the discs available in the store.

In addition to the drilling parameter, it is important to consider the following dimensions. They must be within the limits recommended by the manufacturer:

  • The diameter of the rim, which is measured in inches.
  • Rim width, also measured in inches. Most often for Camry it corresponds to 6.5.
  • Wheel offset, measured in millimeters. It is the distance from the vertical axis of symmetry to the plane of contact between the hub and the disk.
  • The number of holes for fastening with nuts and bolts, or simply a bolt pattern.
  • Hole for mounting the hub and its dimensions. Designated DIA and is the diameter of the center hole. Also measured in millimeters.

The bolt pattern and other important dimensions for cars of the brand may vary. Crossovers and SUVs have increased mounting hole spacing and usually larger wheels. For sedans, all required dimensions are similar.

The Toyota Corolla 150 car has the following dimensions and parameters:

  • Rim bolt pattern - 5×100;
  • Rim width - from 6.0 to 7.0J, inches;
  • Wheel offset - ET from 39 to 42 millimeters;
  • The diameter of the central hole is 54.1 millimeters.

You might be interested in what is rim width

For R19 wheels of the Toyota Highlander crossover, the following parameters and sizes are used:

  • Rim bolt pattern - 5×114.3;
  • Rim width - 7.5J, inches;
  • Wheel offset - ET 35 mm;
  • The diameter of the central hole is 60.1 millimeters.

Land Cruiser 200, on R18 wheels, the dimensions and parameters are as follows:

Latest model Toyota Camry

  • Rim bolt pattern - 5×150;
  • Rim width - 8.5J, inches;
  • Wheel offset - ET 60 mm;
  • The diameter of the central hole is 110.5 millimeters.

Visually it can be very problematic to correctly determine the diameter, in contrast to the number of bolts, which are easy to count even by eye. You can measure the diameter yourself, but this requires at least a ruler, and it would be more correct to use a caliper. The accuracy of the measurement is very important; a deviation of even a millimeter is unacceptable.

Pay attention!

It is important to remember that the incorrect selection of wheels or tires for any Toyota model can, at a minimum, take a lot of wasted time. Since the wrong size products will need to be returned back to the store and replaced with the correct ones.

In the worst cases, this can lead to a decrease in safety, since the discs are directly responsible for the quality of the car's behavior on the road surface.

Selection of wheels for Camry XV70 in accordance with standard parameters.

From the moment of purchasing the XV70, I began to look for decent 18-diameter wheels for my car in accordance with the standard parameters of the manufacturer, since 16-wheelers look very unsightly.

And the inspiration for writing this post was a conversation on Instagram with a seller of beautiful alloy wheels of the same diameter for a Toyota Camry, whom one of our colleagues recommended to me on a local forum.

From talking with a businessman, I realized that he sells 18-diameter rollers on Camrys of the previous generation V50, in which the disc offset is 35 mm, while on the XV70 of the same diameter it is 50 mm. The new platform of the restyled Toyota New Global Architecture car most likely has somewhat changed the technical parameters of the structural components.

Before continuing the topic, I will make a short digression. Somehow, a couple of years ago, here on the Drome, I had a dialogue with one eccentric, the owner of a Mondeo 5*, who installed heavy wheels from a large 20-diameter crossover with parameters completely inconsistent with the FM5 on his car.

He never understood all the arguments that from a technical point of view this is stupidity. And the stupidity is that by installing heavy wheels with the wrong offset on a car, it actually shortens the period of normal operation of the chassis elements. But apparently the person either didn’t study physics at school, or he has anatomical difficulties.

Now we can continue, since the topic of selecting disks is quite interesting for every user, including me.

The offset determines the location of the central axis relative to the hub, and if the central axis moves when the offset changes, then the steering axis moves along with it. When the difference in disc offset is several millimeters, the performance of the suspension changes, this is especially noticeable at speeds and when entering corners. Well, if it is more than 5 mm, then the load begins to be transferred to the suspension elements, which are often not designed for this, the wheel bearings may fail, and then the stabilizer struts, shock absorbers, rods, tips, etc. will fly off.

There can be a disc offset deviation within the same brand of car, but only if there are different engines under the hood. For example, a V6 engine weighs more than a four-cylinder engine, so the load on the suspension will not be the same and the difference in the recommended offset value may be approximately 5 mm, in rare cases a little more.

But this is not the whole embarrassment that can happen to the car, since the discrepancy in the offset affects the car’s handling, the predictability of the car’s behavior in corners decreases, and uneven tire wear appears.

For information, you can give examples of how much wheels and tires weigh with different parameters. By adding up their weight and applying a formula from physics, you can calculate the force with which the centrifugal force acts on the hub in motion with the center of the wheel assembly shifted relative to the vertical axis.

The funny thing is that these are not horror stories and here's why. Previously, during the times of “millionaires,” a significant margin of safety was built into the design of cars, which allowed the components and mechanisms of cars to withstand overloads without noticeable damage. Today, all manufacturers save money; the level of strength of the materials used to make these parts depends on the accuracy of calculations of the loads to which car parts are exposed; ultimately, all this affects the final cost of the car. In addition to the suspension, this also affected the engines of individual manufacturers, when seemingly previously reliable two-liter engines are now made into typical downsizings, making their filling indecently easier.

Now we can move on to specific examples. Here the guys are selling on Avito one original 18-diameter wheel for 40,000 rubles, a set for 160 thousand rubles, and recently I saw an advertisement there for a set of used wheels with tires for 110,000 wooden ones. Of course, there are few users who will buy these wheels for that kind of money, it’s easier to buy a Toyota replica there on Avito for 36,000 rubles, but with a 35 mm offset and hope that in half a year a terrible whistle will not appear on the left or right when driving speed.

For me, it’s better to buy 18-diameter alloy wheels on a Camry 8* for 50-60 thousand rubles from well-known German Tomason, Borbet, AEZ, Dezent or Italian manufacturers Fondmetal, Momo, but with the basic standard parameters for the XV70. As a rule, all the numbers and letters on them coincide with the original except for the diameter of the hub. But this is no longer very significant, since spacer rings are needed only for installing the disk on the hub, and the alignment itself is done with nuts or bolts, depending on the make of the car.

If we were to buy something pretentious from 18-diameter discs, then I would take a closer look at the famous brands OZ Rasing Leggera HLT or RAYS Gram Lights 57FXX, the cost of which per disc is almost half the cost of the original Camry V70 disc of the same diameter.

This is one of the options for Tomason TN16 alloy wheels, which I am considering purchasing in the near future. The photo shows a Tesla with Thomason wheels in silver. From my point of view, they look cool on the car, but you need to go to the sellers of these slippers and see how they match the car in color, texture and their configuration to the Camry XV70. It happens that you seem to like it in the picture, but it doesn’t fit the car.

The full parameters of these wheels are Thomason TN16 8x18, ET45, 5x114.3, Dia 72.6. On the left is Bright Silver, and on the right is Dark hyperblack polished. They are also available completely black in Black Painted color. One disc costs approximately 14,900 rubles, it all depends on the euro exchange rate. Well, for the set you have to pay 59,600 rubles.

You can watch a movie about these nice alloy wheels from the German manufacturer Tomason in the video

I can’t help but mention in my post the alloy wheels of the German company Borbet, in particular the BLX series slippers on the Jaguar XF. The maximum offset of the wheels is ET45, but the cost per set is about 96 thousand rubles. The price tag is, of course, very steep, but these premium rollers are really cool and are quite suitable for Toyota

These Borbet BLX wheels have the following parameters: 8x18, ET45, 5x114.3. The first option is in Black Polished Matt color, and the second option is in Brilliant Silver color. In any case, such a quality kit from the Germans is cheaper than a Toyota original of the same diameter. I would take silver wheels if they are available in online stores.

You can buy such wheels from the official Borbet distributor in the Russian Federation, and a real picture of German Borbet BLX alloy wheels can be seen in this video

Another alloy wheel that I really like is the AEZ Valencia. There are two sizes of these wheels that will fit the Camry XV70. You can buy it in 18 diameter with an ET45 offset, but I think that this design of slippers should be purchased in 19 diameter with the same ET45 offset. Valencia looks very original on this German pepelats AEZ

German alloy wheels AEZ Valencia are sold in three colors. Brilliant silver is suitable for my Camry in silver, but I prefer the matte High gloss color. The full parameters of these 19-diameter wheels are 8.5x19, ET45, 5x114.3, Dia 71.6. The cost of one disc is 13,855 rubles, for a set you have to pay 55,420 rubles. In my opinion, the amount is quite reasonable for German quality.

You can see what AEZ Valencia wheels look like in this video, although the authors of this movie made a small mistake; it will immediately catch the eye of attentive users.

Another conservative classic version of the German Dezent TX alloy wheels. This is roughly what they look like on the Skoda Octavia station wagon. The optimal choice for these skating rinks is 18 in diameter, although for the winter you can take 17 rims, everything will be softer on the icy ruts in the yards.

Dezent TX wheels are sold in silver and graphite colors. Full sizes are 8x18, ET45, 5x114.3, Dia 71.6, although you can buy with an offset of 50. One disk costs approximately 8,548 rubles, for a set you need to pay only 34,200 rubles. A replica with the design of the original Camry slippers costs about the same.

In the proposed video you can see what these Dezent TX alloy wheels look like. In my opinion, Dezent RE alloy wheels look more original. In general, the taste and color of felt-tip pens are different; some like the classics, while others like the futuristic design.

And these German Rial Kodiak alloy wheels in a classic style for a Volkswagen Passat station wagon are almost completely suitable in their parameters for a Toyota Camry XV70. Moreover, the width of these wheels is 7.5 inches, for which for the winter tires can be taken slightly narrower in width 225, and in profile slightly higher than 50 mm, thereby increasing the ground clearance by 6.5 mm without consequences for the car’s suspension.

Rial Kodiak alloy wheels, like Dezent, are sold in two colors: silver and black. The full sizes of these slippers are 7.5x18, ET45, 5x114.3, Dia 60.1. The cost of one 18-diameter disc is approximately 10,270 rubles; for a set you have to pay 41,080 rubles, which is quite acceptable.

In the video attached below you can see the German Rial Kodiak alloy wheels in real life. From my point of view, they can be purchased for a Camry 8* for operating the car in winter conditions.

Now you can smoothly move on to the good Italian Fondmenal wheels, which in their design and parameters are quite suitable for the Camry XV70. In particular the 6200 series and the 7800 series in Shiny silver. Also available in Black Polished. This is roughly what they look like on the Series 7 Bimmer.

The offset of these Fondmetal 8x18 wheels is from 45 to 48, the hub diameter is 67.2, the bolt pattern is 5x114.3. The cost of the 7800 series is approximately 13,285 rubles per piece; for the set you will have to pay 53,140 rubles. In general, it is relatively inexpensive, but such Italian rollers are becoming increasingly rare on the Russian market.

If any of your colleagues are interested in the Italian wheels of the Fondmetal 7800 series, then in this video you can see what they look like in reality. I think they look good, but I like the German Valencia better in this style.

What I would also take a closer look at is the Italian brand MOMO. And in particular to the Raptor and Sting slippers. One of my colleagues from the previous Mondeo 5 car installed Momo 18-diameter alloy wheels in silver on his American car in the photo. In my opinion, the car looks very presentable on these rollers, I think they will also fit on the Toyota Camry 8.

In the photo on the left is Momo Raptor, on the right is Momo Sting. Both are available in metallic silver. The first Raptor has such full characteristics 7.5x18, ET45.5x114.3, Dia 67.1, and the second Sting 8x18, ET45.5x114.3, Dia70.2. Unfortunately, these Italian wheels appear less and less on the Russian market, especially Sting in 18 diameter.

One Momo Raptor disc is inexpensive, about 7,000 rubles. per piece, per set 28,000 rubles. But Momo Sting in 18 diameter will cost about 12,500 rubles, for a set 50,000 rubles, in real life you can see them in this video. Well, Momo Raptor in this entertaining movie

And the last thing from the Italians that you can try on the eighth generation Camry is the famous Italian luxury OZ Leggera hlt. Once upon a time, the vast majority of users were very proud to buy wheels from this brand. You can choose either 18 in diameter or 19 in diameter with an offset of 45. But they can only be installed on the hub through aluminum spacer rings, since many Italian OZ wheels have a Dia equal to 75 mm.

OZ Leggera hlt wheels can be either dark silver or black lacquer. But on premium cars of black or blue colors you can install such slippers in golden color, although such pleasure in 18 diameter costs about 29 thousand rubles, and in 19 diameter something like 40 thousand rubles. in just one disc.

Premium Italian OZ Leggera hlt wheels can be seen in reality in the video,

I can’t help but mention the Japanese premium wheels Rays Gram Lights 57FXX, the quality of which is beyond doubt. The weight of one such light alloy wheel in 18 diameter is about 9.5 kilograms, which gives just the right ratio of unsprung weight to sprung weight of the car. For comparison, one Borbet BLX alloy wheel in 18 diameter weighs 13.2 kg. As they say, feel the difference in movement.

Rays Gram Lights 57FXX can be either in a rich silver color or in black varnish, it all depends on the preference of the users. Of course, it was possible to choose Work in the same style, but as my opponent explained to me, there is a lot of replica work on this brand, so the price for a set of new ones is relatively inexpensive, unlike Rays.

The full parameters of the Japanese luxury Rays Gram Lights 57FXX are 8x18.5x114.3, ET45, Dia 73.1. Of course, they should also be installed on the hub on aluminum spacer rings in order to center the disk before tightening the nuts. A set of such new disks costs about 87 thousand rubles. You can see the Rays Gram Lights 57FXX in real life in this video.

You can also look at another premium Rays disc in 18 or 19 diameters: Rays Gram Lights Azure 57ANA. These luxury ones in 18 diameter with delivery from Japan can be purchased for 90 thousand rubles, and in 19 diameter for about 100K in black and for 110K in polished metal color. A video about these Japanese premium discs can be viewed here.

I'm also considering the option of Slik forged wheels. From my point of view, the Japanese can easily get forged 19-diameter wheels, since each of them weighs only 10.5 kilograms versus 13 kg of standard 18-diameter wheels, which will not affect the load on the suspension in any way.

A year ago, when selecting wheels for a Mondeo 5*, I really regretted that I ordered 18 forged slippers at the factory, I should have taken 19 diameter, it would have been just right. I took measurements myself on the scales, Borbet 18 diameter weighs 13.2 kg, Slik of the same diameter weighs only 9.9 kg.

This is how these bronze-colored forged wheels look on my former car, Ford Mondeo 5. Overall, it’s not bad, there’s something to strive for closer to summer. To the completely logical question of why I like forged wheels, the answer is very simple: yes, because they have a number of advantages compared to cast ones. Moreover, this applies to any manufacturer of such disks in good quality, including Slik.

When forging, a strength is achieved that is higher than when casting, since the grains are crushed, deformed and pulled in the desired direction, as a result the metal structure becomes fibrous. Due to this, it is possible to reduce the wall thickness of a forged wheel by approximately 20 percent compared to a cast wheel.

Forged wheels from this company L-829 can be seen here in the video.

In addition, due to its high ductility, such a disk does not collapse after a strong impact, but is deformed like a steel one. In addition, forged magnesium wheels have good corrosion resistance, and aluminum wheels can be used without paintwork.

Slik forging still has one drawback, and that is the cost. For 18 diameter you have to pay 72,000 rubles, and for 19 wheels painted in the color you like, 20 thousand more.

And the last option that I would like to offer for discussion is the Japanese alloy wheels RAYS Gram Lights 57Xtreme SP Spec, which are somewhat reminiscent of the Italian OZ Racing Ultraleggera in configuration and lightness. I bought these wheels for my car, about which I previously made a post in my logbook.

The conclusion of the post is very simple: if you buy wheels for your car, it is better with the parameters corresponding to the recommendations of the car manufacturer.

Bolt spacing on Toyota Camry V50

At the moment, the V50 is the penultimate generation of the body for this car. Its full factory name is XV50. This model was supplied and equipped with 16 and 17 inch wheels. All products, even in the basic configuration, were light alloy. As for the tires, their sizes were 215/60 R16 and 215/55 R17. The characteristics of the discs depended on the selected configuration and engine size. Parameters and important dimensions for car wheels:

  • Disc bolt pattern - 5×114.3;
  • The diameter of the centering hole is CO 60.1, millimeters;
  • Rim offset - ET 45, millimeters;
  • Wheel width - 6.5 or 7.0J, inches.

As a tuning, it was possible to install 18-inch wheels with tires increased in width and reduced in profile height without any problems.

Wheels for Toyota Camry: tire and wheel sizes, models for Toyota Camry

Toyota Motor Corporation is the largest automobile manufacturer not only in Japan, but throughout the world. It produces about two hundred cars of various brands, and one of the most popular is the Toyota Camry.

This is a front-wheel drive sedan of the “E” class, very popular not only in families with a decent income, but also as company cars for various ranks of officials and business people. The reason for this is the incredibly elegant exterior, which immediately declares the respectability of the owner.

What kind of wheels are installed on a Toyota Camry so as not to disturb the driving performance of the car and not spoil the overall impression?

A little about the evolution of the car

Considering that the Camry has been produced in one variation or another since 1980, Russian car owners have cars of various modifications on their hands. There are even some that are intended for the domestic Japanese market, but we will only talk about European options.

The chronology of Toyota Camry generations looks like this:

  1. Body XV10, 91-96. Initially it was only a sedan under the Scepter brand, a station wagon appeared in ’92, and in ’93 they were renamed Camry.
  2. Body XV20, 96-02. It was produced in various body styles, and in different countries the car bore different names. The coupe and convertible were called Solara, sedans with an extended wheelbase were called Avalon. There were other luxury modifications, but the most popular was the Camry family sedan.
  3. The XV30 body, which became the fifth generation, was produced from 2001 to 2005. In Russia, options were offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a 2.4-liter engine, and a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3-liter engine.
  4. The 2006-2011 model with the XV40 body, which in our country is more often called the Camry 40, was offered for Russia in several modifications of engines and gearboxes, and not only front-wheel drive, but also with all-wheel drive.
  5. The XV50 body version began to be produced in 2011. The independent Australian association ANCAP tested this version for security. According to all criteria, the car received five stars. In 2014, restyling was carried out and some shortcomings were eliminated along the way. In particular, the wheel struts were made more durable. There is already an option with a 3.5-liter engine in the model range.
  6. The world premiere of the sixth generation, with the XV70 body, took place in Detroit, America in 2021. By 2021, the model reached Russia, where, by the way, it has also been assembled since 2007.

Camry XV 70 – latest generation

The next change of generations had a very beneficial effect on both the functionality of the machine and its appearance. Although this four-door sedan is substantial, it is not bulky at all.

Enlarged wheel arches accommodate 18-inch wheels, although in factory configurations the Camry comes with 16 and 17-inch radii.

Let's get acquainted with the modifications and wheel sizes:

Choosing tires for wheels

If the car has just come out of the showroom, the owner will invariably have to puzzle over the selection of winter tires, especially if it is winter outside, and the factory tires are summer.

Let's try to figure out what the best winter tires are for the Toyota Camry, taking into account the base size 215/55 R17.

Here is the TOP 20 - popular offers from average Russian stores:

Which winter tires for Toyota Camry to choose – studded or friction, depend on the climatic conditions of your region and the quality of the roads on which you will have to drive.

This is not an SUV, but if, in order to get from home to work, you need to overcome uphill and downhill terrain every day, and even with heavy snowfall, Velcro is not the best choice.

We also advise inexperienced drivers to ride on studded tires in winter, and it is better if they have a symmetrical, non-directional tread.

If we take into account the test drives carried out annually by the magazine “Behind the Wheel”, Continental invariably leads among friction tires, and Nokian among studded tires. During testing, the following indicators are taken into account:

  • braking on dry and wet asphalt;
  • acceleration, braking and handling on ice;
  • in the snow, in addition to all this discipline, cross-country ability is also added.

In all situations, qualities such as smooth running and acoustic comfort are also assessed.

General recommendations when selecting tires

When deciding which tires to install on a Toyota Camry, you need to take into account the characteristics of a particular modification. In principle, this is a fast car, since the engine power on some of them reaches 249 hp, and accordingly, it can reach speeds of up to 220 km/h.

But engine power alone is not enough for this - the driving performance of the car largely depends on the correctly selected “shoes”.

In winter on ice, and even with all the known quality of our roads, it would hardly occur to anyone to drive at such speeds. High-speed tires are often chosen for the summer, and we will bring to your attention several worthy models.

In the summer, car owners try to install wheels with a larger radius. The maximum tire size for the Camry is 235/40 R19, which is what we will focus on.

Michelin

In general, Michelin rubber is famous for its softness. However, any property in different conditions can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2

On high-quality road surfaces, such tires allow you to achieve the highest speeds, but in Russian realities you can feel every bump on them. If you live in the city and drive exclusively on the highway, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is an excellent choice.

Nokian

In general, Nokian Tires released three summer tire models in 2021. One of them is Hakka Black 2, designed for sports cars and premium cars. Despite the fact that tires under this brand are now produced in Russia, tread patterns and rubber compounds are created in their homeland in Finland.
