Review:
Greetings to all current and potential car enthusiasts. I myself am a driver with twenty years of experience. I drove different cars, started with Nasheprom. I will never forget my first car - a 1983 six. There was so much joy. It just wasn’t my leisure time to write about my cars. But as they say, there is a first time for everything. I want to share my impressions, but for now my story doesn’t amount to much more about the extreme car Toyota Venza. The car is new for our market, although it has been sold in the States by automotive standards for a long time. To buy a car at the very start of sales, I made a pre-order in April. Naturally, at that time dealers did not yet have live cars. However, for me it was not a pig in a poke. I met this car back in 2009, when I was visiting my sister; she had long since moved to the States. Then we traveled in her Venza across Canada and the USA. The machine got caught. We people are no longer young, drive and image have faded into the background, we want more practicality, comfort and versatility. And Venza combines these qualities well. In principle, if you really wanted to, you could have brought it from the States, but at that time I had a fresh Camry, so there was no reason to bother. But today a fourth digit appeared on the odometer of a new Venza purchased from an official dealer. Which was the indirect reason to write. Actually about the car. The car combines the handling and comfort of a premium sedan, the ground clearance and plug-in drive of a crossover and the capacity of a station wagon. In general, it seems to me that it occupies a niche between the Camry and the Highlander, or if someone prefers, between the RAV4 and the Highlander. I rented a top-of-the-range car from us - Prestige. There are two more front-wheel drive Elegance and the middle Elegance Plus, but all-wheel drive. In the States there are also similar cars with a 3.5 liter engine. This is exactly what I drove on the roads of the new world in 2009, and the Americans have a different classification of equipment... We have the same engine and gearbox option. Inline four 2.7 liters. 185hp with a six-speed torque converter automatic. The tandem is proven and reliable. For a car with a curb weight of almost two tons, it is enough, but just short. It’s still difficult to say about all the advantages or disadvantages of the power plant, since testing is underway. And, of course, the machine has not yet reached operating modes, and gentle operating conditions do not allow us to fully evaluate the dynamic capabilities. It is on these positions that I will write later. However, I can compare it with the American 3.5L. since at that time his mileage was also childish, about two thousand miles. Its dynamics are noticeably better, consumption is slightly less. Moreover, we traveled with five of us and with luggage. Now, judging by the on-board computer, in the city I eat 13-15 liters. On the highway, with a uniform ride close to nauseating without kick-down overtaking and changes in terrain, I achieved 7.5 liters. But in this mode you need to drive at least 100-150 km. In the city, like a fish in water, smoothly without jerking, there is enough traction from the very bottom. The automatic works perfectly, the shifts are almost unnoticeable. Such settings are conducive to a measured, calm and at the same time confident ride. And if necessary, dive into the resulting window with acceleration, the car does not give up. That is, acceleration from speeds of 60-80 km/h is effective and starting from scratch is quite assertive. As a last resort, the manual mode is always helpful, which I haven’t used yet, I just tried it. Everyone liked my Kamryukha. But the current very snowy winter and the spring consequences with holes and hidden thawed patches have forced us to think about ground clearance and all-wheel drive. I scanned all the secondary roads in the area with the bottom and bumpers. Venza, although not a crossover, has a ground clearance of 205mm. and this is almost like a Highlander; other crossovers have less. The connected drive is of course not for off-road use, but I think in such conditions as last winter brought, it would be appropriate. Geometric off-road capability is limited only by overhangs. But it’s easy to waddle over curbs. By the way, the Venza is even a little longer than the Highlander, and the wheelbase is like the Camry and with such ground clearance this means a lot. The rear wheels are engaged not only when the front wheels are clearly slipping, but also in turns, which makes it easier to enter a turn. By the way, the handling is really comparable to that of a regular large sedan. Of course, there are some issues due to the higher center of gravity and tuning features. Nose-dive when braking and sagging when entering a turn on the outside wheel. But this does not spoil the overall picture at all. Electric amplifier. I can’t say that it’s tuned perfectly; it’s not worth comparing with the Camry. But I can’t say that it’s pure synthetics. The steering wheel is quite reactive, with good feedback. Strangely enough, it seems to me that the ride is more impressive than it was on the American Venza. Paradoxical but true. It always seemed to me that Americans have always had a soft suspension. There she even seemed harsh to me. In no way do I consider this fact a disadvantage. On our roads, IMHO, of course, it’s better to roll in corners and sway on waves than to grind on an average road. A small lyrical digression. I don't like pendos, but there is a lot to learn from them. There are roads, of course, but not everywhere, there are sections even in large cities, God forbid, but not many. During the five days of driving, I saw the traffic police once at a major junction. They stopped me, addressed me very politely, wished me a safe journey, didn’t even look at my documents, just warned me that road work was going on in this area. And this despite the fact that I was driving. I clearly understand English only within the framework of the school curriculum, like: “how are you?” There are a lot of cameras along the highway, there are warnings everywhere. That is, the point of their police work is not to come and fuck, but to warn. There is a truth and a downside. When I tried to take a cell phone charger out of the car in the evening in a dressing gown, the cops immediately flew up on a tip from neighbors, not fatal, but cool, I lost an hour until everything was clarified. The salon is huge. In principle, the third row of seats would fit easily. The trunk with the seats not folded down is 975 liters. The capacity of the compartments in the center console is almost 15 liters, and in general there are plenty of niches and pockets for small items throughout the cabin. The backrests fold in one motion. A flat floor is formed, and the volume increases to two cubes. Under the false floor of the trunk of the dock, in the American version there was a repair kit. There is about a meter between the front and rear seat backs. On the back seat you can actually sit cross-legged. In addition, the backrests are adjustable for tilt, so you can ride reclining. The truth is, if you don’t break it and fasten it, the belt goes straight to your neck. The front seats are wide and soft, but this is rather a minus; there is no lateral support as such. But there is an electric drive for both front seats, including lumbar support. And the driver’s side has memory for two positions, and the system also remembers the position of the side mirrors. Speaking of mirrors, there is a very convenient feature; they tilt when reversing. And the design itself is different from what I saw in America. “Our” mirrors have spherical segments, a kind of blind spot monitoring. The decoration and design of the interior itself caused a split in our family. I like everything, it’s comfortable, practical, and the finish is not bad. But children think that this design and quality of materials are from the past. The image on the central 7-inch monitor, by the way, is like an eight-bit Dandy. Perhaps they are right about something, because nowadays the auto industry is moving by leaps and bounds, and the Venza has undergone virtually no changes since 2008. But what we are all unanimous about is the assessment of the quality of music. The 13-speaker JBL system delivers superior, deep, clear sound. It pumps so much that the sound seems to penetrate inside the body and all organs dance to the beat of the music. Noise insulation is not bad, if you find fault only with the rear wheel arches, sounds from the road in a small amount penetrate from somewhere in the trunk. The engine is not audible throughout the entire speed range to which I rev it up, which is approximately 3500 rpm. In general, the equipment is standard, there is everything you need. I will not list them, I will only note the distinctive points. First of all, the electric rear door is very convenient. An electric sunroof in the front and panoramic glass over the rear row of seats. Rear view camera with markings. Front and rear parking sensors. System of automatic switching between high and low beams. Intelligent car access system and start-stop button. Navigation in Russian. Voice control system. Full set of security systems. ABS, brake force distribution system, anti-skid, exchange rate stability system, 7 airbags. I don’t see any significant shortcomings yet. And no mileage, but also due to the fact that I really wanted this particular car. Not disappointed, that's for sure. For an accomplished adult, burdened with a family in the good sense of the word, the ideal car. The car is a bit expensive, of course, but it’s cheaper in the states, and not only because production is located there. Pricing in our country is generally a subject for a separate discussion.

Details about the car
Interior
The interior of the Toyota Venza is quite spacious. Without the 3rd row of seats, the 5-door Toyota Venza has 1.99 cubic meters of cargo space and plenty of legroom and headroom. Additional features that make the car even more comfortable and luxurious include a huge panoramic sunroof, an Entune navigation system and a JBL audio system. This Toyota model is also equipped with special provisions for animals such as a compartment in the trunk, as well as special seat belts in the rear seats.
Exterior
The Toyota Venza is instantly distinguishable from other models thanks to its distinctive design. The Venza comes with standard 19-inch tires. The driver's seat is located high enough to improve visibility, and the distance from the seat to the pedals is optimal for the average person. Thanks to this design, the Toyota Venza is easily distinguished from the Camry and Highlander.
Basic equipment
The base Toyota Venza includes 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, AM/FM/CD player with MP3/WMA playback, rearview camera, 6 speakers, headphone jack, USB port with iPod connectivity and a 3.5-inch LCD multi-information display. All Toyota Venza seats have leather covering. Safety features include vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, and seven airbags.
Optional equipment
Toyota provides traction for all weather conditions: both cold climates and hot ones. You can find Toyotas with two types of engines - a 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine or a 3.5 liter 6-cylinder engine. Options also include a panoramic sunroof, navigation system, JBL audio system and heated front seats.
Driving impressions
The least expensive Venza is considered to be of lower quality. The Toyota Venza's engine power is only 181 hp, so the station wagon sometimes can't move fast enough. Models with a V6 engine are considered to be the best choice. It is worth noting that V6 engines from Toyota are characterized by stable operation, power and fuel efficiency. The ride and handling of the Toyota Venza are almost identical to the Toyota Camry, but at the same time, the car is equipped with large tires and a high suspension, which provide a more stable ride. It also seems that the massive 19-20 inch tires create noise in the cabin.
