Engine and transmission

The Camry 55 was equipped with three gasoline engines:
2.0 6AR-FSE 150 hp.

2.5 2AR-FE 181 hp

3.5 V6 2GR-FE 249 hp

The 2.5 2AR and 3.5 2GR engines remained the same as on the Camry 50, but the available 2.0 6AR replaced the equal-volume 2.0 1AZ. If the previous two-liter engine developed 148 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque, then the power of the new 6AR-FSE is 150 hp. and 199 N*m.

The new engine has become more technologically advanced; the compression ratio has increased to 12.7, a new VVT-iW intake variable timing system, and combined fuel injection have appeared. These innovations have made the 2021 Camry with a two-liter engine faster and more economical. Acceleration to hundreds is declared by the manufacturer in 10.4, the previous modification had 12.5. The new engine allows the use of 92 gasoline.
