- there is no exact translation of streets;

Most of the disadvantages are small annoyances that are easy to get used to. But the renewal clause is a significant problem. Constantly changing street names and rebuilding roads requires new data on maps. The average cost of updating a standard module is 3,900 rubles. New files are installed using a USB cable, DVD, or SD card.
Along with the latest version of the maps there is a program for Russification if the system is English.
Due to the high price and the need to buy an update package, drivers prefer to change the navigation unit by installing programs from other companies. They allow you to update maps yourself or at a service center, but at a lower cost. To do this, an additional navigation module is installed on the radio. The driver has access to all the connectors and inputs of this unit, which will be needed for updating or other procedures. Unlike the “native” factory-installed system, such modules allow the use of different GPS applications. These include:

The update duration for European versions of Toyota and Lexus is on average about 1.5 hours, more details: for Toyota / Lexus GEN6 - from 40 minutes, for Toyota / Lexus GEN7/GEN8/GEN9 - 1.5 hours, for Toyota Touch / Touch 2 - from 30 minutes.
We try to use standard methods for updating Toyota and Lexus navigation that do not interfere with the operation of the car's electronics. Navigation updates in models with a hard drive (GEN7 11HDD) produced since 2012 can be done by the dealer via a USB port. Updating Toyota and Lexus with GEN6 08HDD, produced from 2009 to 2011, requires partial disassembly of the panel to access the control unit or navigation unit. Toyota Touch navigation maps can be updated only via the USB port. Earlier generations (GEN3, GEN4, GEN5) require replacing the DVD media with software and maps to update the navigation.
