Well, actually, now I’m faced with the friendly inscription “The fuel filter needs to be replaced.”
We were returning from Europe through Belarus and the only time I refueled not at Lukoil, but at the BELNEFTEKHIM gas station (filled up 60 liters) and, about 50 km after refueling, the sign lit up.
The first reaction was - oh, the first breakdown, I’ll go under warranty. But then the thought crept in that it was a consumable. I didn’t find anything in the car manual about the frequency of replacement; I thought that it was probably after such messages that the filter needed to be changed when it asked.
At one of the overnight stops in the Smolensk region, I had access to the Internet and read on the Internet about how fuel filters are damaged, as well as about the replacement procedure. I was under the impression that the process was absolutely not labor-intensive and replacement would cost very little.
In the same article, I read how to reset the filter error, tried it - it was enough for about 30 km. And the error appeared again.
After refueling at Lukoil, I reset the error again, in the hope that the filter would eventually dry out and get a second life on a good diesel fuel. But the miracle did not happen, the error appeared again.
I decided to replace it after all. I called OD and was stunned by the price - a filter with replacement costs 4800 rubles! The filter itself is 2500 rubles and 2300 rubles for replacement (what is there to do with 1.5 nf?!).
The mileage of the car at the time of the “finish” was 12,500 km. In my opinion, this is not enough for a filter resource!
Due to a huge lack of time, I still did not cancel my appointment with the OD and went to replace the fuel filter (it was not possible to buy a filter separately, so I went that way).
The only thing that confuses me is that I don’t understand what can be done with the filter for 2 hours. It took exactly two hours from the moment I handed the car over to the service manager.
Otherwise there are no complaints. Polite, cultural, pleasant. I had a good lunch in a cafe on the second floor (Yasenevo shopping center). I like the service of this OD, but I don’t like the prices =))
The preliminary payment amount was 4801 rubles (2301 rubles filter and 2500 rubles replacement), but, as it turned out, I had accumulated points under their loyalty program, in general they gave a discount of 700 rubles. In total, everything cost me 4101 rubles.
For next time, the other day I bought an original filter in advance from Exist (1000 rubles), and found it on the recommendations of a service station (a club for Lexus drivers), where a replacement will cost symbolic money.

Algorithm of actions when replacing the filter element on a Land Cruiser 200 diesel SUV:
- The chip with wires on the filter cover is pryed off and removed.
- The fasteners are unscrewed (there are three of them, a hexagon is used and WD-40).

Changing the gasoline fuel filter
