And the huge QX80 hasn't been seriously updated since it was born in 2010, while key rivals have already switched generations. Here they are: Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and the new Chevrolet Tahoe. They are not confused with Chery anywhere.
On the other hand, is it really necessary to make serious changes if you are good? Five years ago, the Nissan Patrol, Infiniti's twin brother, easily won a test against Toyota and Chevy. Alas, Patrol has left the Russian market. But the QX80 is still “in use.”

But everything else this car had five and ten years ago. Frame, independent suspension and original HBMC, Hydraulic Body Motion Control system. The shock absorbers are connected to each other into a single hydraulic circuit - passive, without valves, but with a hydraulic accumulator. The system replaces missing anti-roll bars and suppresses roll in turns without interfering with wheel travel off-road. In addition, the QX80, unlike the Patrol, has air springs installed at the rear instead of steel springs.

But the Land Cruiser 300 does not yet have hydraulic suspension, although both the “200” and the “100” had it. And if the previous Land Cruiser at least kept up with the Patrol on broken asphalt or on a wavy dirt road, now Toyota is increasingly lost in the Infiniti rear-view mirrors. Moreover, if it weren’t for the rear air springs, the QX80 would have raced faster: Nissan’s suspension with conventional springs worked even steeper.

What to do if the check engine light is on

Resetting fault codes
Using the brake pedal
a) Short-circuit the “TC” and “CG” terminals of the DLC3 connector.
Note: This operation must be carried out with the vehicle stationary.
b) Turn on the ignition.
c) Press the brake pedal eight or more times within five seconds to clear any fault codes stored in the ABS control unit.
d) Check that the indicator flashes correspond to the no fault code (0.5 second interval).
e) Turn off the ignition.
f) Disconnect the “TC” and “CG” pins of the DLC3 connector.
g) Make sure the ABS indicator goes off.
Using a tester
a) Turn off the ignition and connect the tester to the DLC3 connector.
b) Turn on the ignition. Using the instructions for the tester, erase the fault codes.
