Step-by-step instructions for replacing front wheel brake discs
To replace disks with your own hands, first of all, you need to prepare a simple set of tools:
- set of keys;
- balloon with jack;
- thrust shoes for fixing wheels;
- lubricant for brake systems.
- Using a bulb, syringe or other device, pump out the brake fluid from the cylinder reservoir. This is done in order to preserve the fluid if it is suitable for subsequent filling of the reservoir. When held to light, the liquid should be clear and homogeneous. The liquid can only be drained into a clean, dry container with a lid.
- Place shoes under the rear wheels to securely secure the raised vehicle. After this, remove the front wheel. You also need to be sure to insure yourself in case the car falls off the jack. To do this, you can place a wooden block or a removed wheel with additional bars under the front spar.
- Unscrew the caliper bolt from below, lift it by turning it on the top bolt and tie it with a cord or wire in this position. If the caliper does not turn easily, then the top bolt should also be loosened.
- Remove the pads, then completely unscrew the second, lower bolt and disconnect the caliper from the mounting bracket, leaving it hanging on the cord.
- Turn the steering wheel towards the removed wheel, unscrew the bracket and put it aside.
- Clean the dismounting holes of the disk from dirt and remove it by screwing M8 bolts into these two holes.
- Place the new brake disc on the landing sleeve and screw the mounting bracket into place.
- Apply lubricant to the guide bolt.
- Press the brake piston with any object or device, push it into its cylinder and screw the caliper into place.
- Turn the steering wheel to a straight position.
- Screw the wheel and lower the jack.
- Repeat everything in the same sequence with the second wheel.
- Fill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid and bleed air in the system.
Tuning price
The cost of tuning a Toyota Corolla hatchback or sedan in the 120 body and the E150 model depends on the type of work performed:
- External tuning, which includes repainting, installing body kits, applying airbrushing, installing underbody lighting, replacing rims and installing additional air ducts, deflectors and spoilers, will cost the driver 25-45 thousand rubles.
- Chip tuning of the engine, replacement of parts with more advanced ones, modernization of the suspension (installation of stiffer or softer springs), replacement of brakes - 30-50 thousand rubles. Installation of hydraulics or electrohydraulics will cost drivers 10-15 thousand rubles.
