In the gas distribution mechanism, the manufacturer first used the new VVT-i system, the drive of which was carried out through a timing chain. It existed without significant changes until mid-2007, when the tenth generation of Corolla appeared.
The working pair with the 1.4-liter engine was a new manual transmission with five steps, and with the 1.6-liter engine - a robotic one with the same number of steps. The suspension of the ninth generation car consisted of MacPherson struts in the front and a torsion beam in the rear, and a transverse stabilizer was responsible for the stability of the car.

When leaving the city, away from high-quality roads, you should slightly reduce the speed range, since the suspension is slightly harsh on uneven surfaces, but the car has the ability to drive on slippery and viscous surfaces with virtually no risk of getting stuck or hitting the crankcase guard.
The steering is excellent. The information content of the steering wheel is good. There are also usually no complaints about the operation of the amplifier.

On 2006 Toyota Corolla cars, various types of power units were installed and, as a rule, these were:

In order for the car to last as long as possible, it is necessary to change the oil in the engine every 10,000 kilometers, change the spark plugs every 30,000, as well as check and, if necessary, change steering tips, silent locks and shock absorbers.
As for the transmission, most were equipped with a manual transmission, and the rest with an automatic gearbox.
The front suspension is quite strong and lasts 100,000 kilometers without problems, and is an independent McPherson wishbone, and a torsion beam is installed on the rear. The brakes that were installed on this model were disc at the front and drum at the rear. The ground clearance is adapted to our road conditions and is 17 centimeters.

The interior design of the restyled Corolla has improved significantly; the manufacturer has used higher quality materials and added decorative trims to the center console and door trim, which is reflected well in the photos of the interior presented on the Internet.
The multimedia system has completely changed in the maximum configuration, receiving a larger display and the ability to work as a navigator, synchronizing the driver’s phone via Bluetooth for hands-free calling. Multifunctional control joysticks have been added to the steering column.
The manufacturer has reduced the configuration options for the domestic market to two, namely:
- Terra - MT (Terra), which was the basic version with a 1.4-liter engine, manual transmission and power windows for only two front windows, heated front seats and four airbags with a deactivation mode;
- Sol - AT (Sol), which implies being equipped with an automatic transmission and the maximum possible number of additional options in the form of various adjustments of the front seats, installation of a multimedia system and various electronic assistants.
