- Yaroslav, Tula region. I praise the Toyota Probox for its soft chassis, reliability and durability, lack of roll in corners and ideal visibility. Despite its compact dimensions, the cabin is very spacious even for five passengers. The version with a 1.5 engine has a groovy character, but only at city speeds in the range of 60-80 km/h. Then noise and vibration begin, and fuel consumption increases. It does not exceed 11 liters, but this is also a lot. The manual transmission operates with delays, but this can be attributed to the 10-year age of the model. The car is stable in turns thanks to the ground clearance of 120 mm, but such ground clearance is clearly not the best option for our roads. Over the course of eight years, the bottom and sills became covered with corrosion - that was two years ago, and the body had to be galvanized and repainted. Toyota Probox overall looks like a good option for hauling cargo in a busy city.
- Boris, Ekaterinoslavl. An inexpensive and practical car with... a wooden interior. Very cheap and creaky plastic on the front panel, a minimum of adjustments and it feels like the development of interior design stopped somewhere in the late 1990s. I have a car from 2005, even by the standards of those years it looks no better than a Daewoo Lanos. The car with a modest 1.5-liter engine takes off quickly from a standstill. A gearbox with short ratios slightly improves dynamics and provides more active, but less smooth acceleration. Anyway, after 90 km/h the engine turns sour, and there is no point in revving it to the red zone. As a result, it turns out that the car is not capable of driving fast, although the gearbox encourages dynamic driving. And the sharp steering contributes to this, as does the low ground clearance and elastic suspension. Need a more powerful motor. The main disadvantages are a weak engine and a ground clearance of 120 mm, which is only enough to pass through broken city roads, and then only with a stretch. The Toyota Probox looks like a classic truck with standard shapes, without any frills - however, it attracts me with its brutality. Consumes within 8-9 liters per 100 km. Even with the seats not folded down, you can load 400 kg of cargo.
- Alexey, Magadan. Toyota Probox has an indestructible suspension and a decent ride. The car itself belongs to the compact and affordable price category, but at the same time it is a full-fledged LCV truck. Its load capacity is about 400 kg, and at the same time the vehicle boasts compact dimensions and good dynamics by cargo standards. The economical 1.5-liter unit is quite noisy at idle and high speeds, but I eliminated this drawback with additional sound insulation of the interior and engine compartment. Power 77 l. With. enough to transport the heaviest loads. The car was produced in 2012, with an automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. The handling is excellent, even in some ways reminiscent of the 2000 Subaru Impreza - I had the opportunity to drive it. The ground clearance is insufficient due to only 120 mm under the bottom - this drawback, alas, cannot be cured in any way.
