On this page we publish the Toyota Corolla maintenance regulations. A detailed description of the recommendations of the Toyota car manufacturer on the frequency and completeness of technical work.
Maintenance intervals
Maintenance is carried out at the appropriate services at varying frequencies depending on the year of manufacture of the vehicle, its operating conditions, as well as the work that needs to be performed. As a general rule, maintenance regulations require inspections either every 10,000 km or every year. It depends on which event occurs faster. If the car is old enough (for example, a 2008 Corolla E120) and has a decent mileage, then the maintenance frequency should be reduced to every 7,000–8,000 km. As for new cars, for example, the E 150 2011-2012 or E 160 2013-2014 model years (as well as later), they can be checked every 20,000 km, provided that the car is not subjected to heavy loads (not used for passenger transportation or taxi work).
According to the regulations, maintenance of a Toyota Corolla car involves a certain list of works that must be performed in strict accordance with the schedule.
The first group of inspection and replacement measures is carried out, as a general rule, every 10,000 km, the second - every 20,000, and the third includes work, the frequency of which is set depending on the wear of a particular part. Inspection does not mean a simple inspection, since if damage or malfunctions are detected, repairs are also carried out.
Why is our cost of maintenance services lower than that of other services?
Our car service does not conduct dumping or price wars against competitors. The reason for the affordable tariffs is simple - Toyota Electric does not have an advertising department, an impressive staff of employees, secretaries and sales managers. All this allows us to save on costs by excluding them from the cost of services. We cooperate with trusted wholesale suppliers of components and have our own warehouse. All this allows us to adhere to a flexible pricing policy, offering clients reasonable prices.
Maintenance schedule (maintenance card)
List of works and spare parts for maintenance recommended by the manufacturer:
Z - replacement; O - cleaning; P - check (adjustment, lubrication as necessary).
The recommended periodic maintenance interval for your Toyota vehicle is every 10,000 km or once every 12 months, whichever comes first.
When carrying out maintenance, Toyota recommends using only original Toyota lubricants and technical fluids:
- Synthetic motor oil Toyota Genuine Motor Oil API SL SAE 5W-40
- Synthetic motor oil Toyota Genuine Motor Oil API SL SAE 0W-30
- Synthetic motor oil Toyota Genuine Motor Oil API SM/SL SAE 0W-20
- Coolants “Toyota Super Long Life Coolant”*, “Toyota Long Life Coolant”**.
- Synthetic oil for manual transmissions Toyota Synthetic Gear Oil API GL4/GL5, SAE 75W-90
- Automatic transmission fluids Toyota ATF WS, Toyota ATF T-IV, Toyota ATF-DIII
- Toyota Brake Fluid DOT 4.
* "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant". The cooling system of a new Toyota vehicle is filled with this type of coolant. The advantage of this fluid is the increased replacement interval, which is performed first at a mileage of 160,000 km, then every 80,000 km. ** "Toyota Long Life Coolant". In this case, replacement is carried out every 40,000 km.

Features of the Toyota Corolla service regulations
The Corolla model produced by Toyota is one of the world's bestsellers. This is the current record holder, which is actively sold in almost every corner of the world, including Russia.
The current maintenance regulations apply to Toyota Corolla 10th and 11th generations.
It is not always necessary to strictly adhere to the regulations, since in practice, repairs and replacement of some elements may be required earlier than the regulated period. Therefore, build on the basic recommendations, but also take into account the operating conditions and your specific situation.
Required replacements based on service life
Of course, not all consumables last as long as provided for by the regulations. And it is obvious that maintenance is required at a mileage of about 200,000 km. for Toyota Corolla cars will include many more additional procedures outside the regulations than with a mileage of about 80,000 km. After all, a number of elements remain in good condition during this maintenance.
The list of works for Toyota Corolla models is gradually expanding. This is due to the fact that mileage and age negatively affect the condition of some fluids, systems and components.
We need to talk separately about the possible list of works relevant for approximately 80,000-140,000 km. Here Toyota Corolla cars can expect the following moments:
- Replacing fluid in the engine cooling system. According to the recommendations of the Japanese automaker, for the first time the coolant is changed only after 180 thousand kilometers, or after 18 years. In Russian conditions, this figure looks incredible. Subsequent replacements are carried out at intervals of 80 thousand km.
- Changing oil in gearboxes. Also an interesting point. Transmission fluids on Toyota Corolla cars of the 10th and 11th generations do not have a regulated service life. According to the regulations, the condition must be checked at intervals of 40 thousand kilometers. Fluid is poured into gearboxes only as needed. But if you are interested in increasing the service life of automatic and manual transmissions, then it is better to change the oil in these boxes outside the regulations, approximately every 90 thousand kilometers.
- Drive belt. This unit on Toyota Corolla cars also does not change. But this is spelled out in the regulations. In reality the situation is somewhat different. According to the rules, the belt is checked after one maintenance. Replacement is carried out if the belt is worn out or damaged under the influence of certain factors. As practice shows, the hinged belt on a Toyota Corolla lasts from 80 to 140 thousand kilometers.
- Valve train chain. According to the passport data, this element of the gas distribution mechanism is eternal. That is, Toyota believes that the timing chain will not have to be changed until the end of the service life of their car. But in practice the replacement is carried out. Usually as a result of a major overhaul, or when signs of chain stretching appear.
Replacing the timing belt on a Toyota Corolla
Among all the consumable parts, it is the timing chain that costs the most. But fortunately for Toyota Corolla owners, the need to replace the chain is extremely rare.
TO-6, TO-8, TO-10
If the mileage of the Toyota Corolla is 60,000, 80,000 or 100,000 km, then you will need to go the same way as in the case of TO-1 and TO-2.
Routine diagnostic work and replacement of consumables prescribed for the first two technical services are combined.
Separately, it is worth noting the maintenance after 120,000 km, since here the Toyota Corolla should receive a wider range of services and go through all the procedures provided for by TO-4.
Regular cyclicity makes it possible to quickly navigate and understand what approximately awaits the motorist as part of one or another scheduled maintenance.
