Toyota Corolla 180 model from 2014 Alarm installation

3370 Apr 20

These days, alarms are much more than just a means of remotely opening and closing locks. Using these systems, you can start the engine from the key fob, warm up the interior remotely, and many more convenient functions are available. Such multifunctional security systems are much more difficult to install, so before you buy a car alarm, decide for what purpose it is needed and whether you can install it.

Let's consider installing a security system with auto start on a 2008 Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission. For cars with automatic and robotic transmissions, this instruction is not suitable.

Ignition system

We connect the security system to the ignition switch. We find the ignition - it is a white wire. It must be broken and connected to the first end coming from the ignition switch (the thin yellow wire of the car alarm), and to the second remaining part of the wire we connect the thick brown wire of the purchased security system.

In order to connect the interlock circuit, you need to use the relay that comes with the security system. We connect its first wire to the wire of the main module of the system being installed, and the second to the positive ignition wire. It can be found using a control light: it should be in contact with the wire and light up when the ignition is turned on.

To install autostart, you need to bypass the immobilizer installed in the car. To do this, take the battery out of the chip key and place it in the autostart module that comes with the car alarm.

Now you need to connect the Start/Stop button. We take the red wire coming from it and connect it to the negative output from the starter. This will create a simulated button press for remote start.

Next, to monitor the engine, we will connect the yellow car alarm wire to the generator (the pink wire coming from it).

Central locking: Negative pulse To lock and unlock the doors, you must connect to the blue-white with a silver dot locking wire in position No. 6 and to the blue-red and silver dot unlocking wire in position No. 1 in the wiring harness coming from the standard central locking unit , mounted directly on the side panel of the fuse box. Alarm Siren Location Place the siren (monoblock alarm) in the engine compartment on the side panel of the fender on the left side near the air filter.

Final stages

To install the antenna module, you simply need to connect the connector coming from it to the main module of the security complex (the connection port is indicated in the instructions). The same is done with the shock sensor.

It is very important to place this device on a horizontal plane! Because in other planes it will come off over time.

To connect the siren, we draw a wire coming from the connector of the car alarm itself and connect it to the scarlet wire of the siren. We connect the second remaining black one to the car body.

After these operations, you can program the security system unit and check whether it is compatible with your car. To do this, you need to connect your laptop via a USB cable to the main alarm module. You need to download the necessary application to your laptop, depending on the system manufacturer. In this application, you need to enter the make and model of the car, and then click the “Load settings” button.

You can hide the entire key there, but I only took out the chip from the key, and it was used by the crawler. Shredded the third spare key, which does not have central locking control buttons. The outer shell is rubber and can be cut off with a knife. There is a plastic case inside and you can see the chip there; it is pulled out.

The Toyota interior is well versed. Remove the entire top cover of the torpedo. Everything is held there by clips and three screws. And you need to remove the left and right pillar trims.

And unscrew the airbag, this is done by removing the glove compartment, looking for two 12 bolts at the top, and unscrewing it with the head through the extension. We disconnect the pillow - the yellow connector.

When starting up, the system will complain that the airbag is faulty, no problem; when you connect the airbag, this error will disappear on its own.

We hide the signaling and lineman blocks behind the air duct in the middle, spreading them out with a piece of foam rubber.

Alarm connection points in Toyota

The function of the anti-theft system is to protect the vehicle from theft. Connection points are “signaling” sensors installed in the car. They detect external influences (impacts, body tilts, movement) and react to manipulations in the cabin.

By can Pandora DX9X (car model code 2121) sees doors, trunk, ignition, brake pedal, parking, fuel in liters, mileage.
Controls via can the emergency lights, central locking (if installed on staff, the central locking will not open when Pandora is disarmed), unlocking the trunk, and raising the windows. Slave mode and launch from the standard key fob are possible. You can connect to can on the dashboard: twisted pair green (can-h) and white (can-l).

Bypassing the standard immobilizer using the Toyota can rx-tx protocol.

To start, you need to connect to the rx, tx and slp wires.

RX and TX can be found in the standard 6-pin connector (which only has 2 pins), attached to the standard wiring on the left behind the glove compartment. RX – black, TX – red.

SLP – pink in the steering shaft lock connector (pin 4).

I checked the running engine by voltage.

Installation

The first step is to remove the plastic panels of the car interior. The operation is very easy due to the fact that the plastic in this machine is flexible. You need to remove it with a long, flat object.

Do not dismantle the plastic with a screwdriver, as this may damage it!

After this, for installation it is necessary to find connection points to the standard vehicle wiring. In Toyota Corolla, their role is played by the Can-bus and the ignition switch. The connection points for this bus can be found behind the dashboard - these are light green and light green-white wires, which are twisted together in pairs. We connect the control wires of the security system to them (they are indicated in the instructions).

The power supply for the car alarm is located in the same place as the Can-bus wires (blue thick wire), we attach the plus of the security system to it. A wire with black and white insulation comes out of the same chip; we connect the minus to it.

It is much better to solder wire connections than to twist them. If the contacts are made of different materials, then over time they may oxidize and the alarm will stop working.

It is necessary to ensure that the system responds to the condition of the rings. You should connect the wires of the alarm itself to the contacts of the switching socket, from which the green and brown wires come out (the map of their connections is in the instructions for the car alarm).

Now let's connect the trunk ring. In order for it to react, it is necessary to connect the wire coming from the security system unit to the white wire of the driver's threshold.
