Replacing dashboard lights on a Toyota Corolla E110
This photo report demonstrates how to replace the dashboard backlight lamps on a Toyota Corolla E110 with your own hands. The process of replacing dashboard light bulbs is quite simple. To do this, you only need a Phillips screwdriver to remove the Toyota Corolla E110 instrument panel and light bulbs for replacement.
To illuminate the dashboard, 3 types of LED lamps are used:
- 4 light bulbs (the largest) serve to illuminate the scales and needles of instruments; they are 3 Watt. Original Toyota light bulb 9098111058
- 15 bulbs (the smallest ones) serve in the red and yellow signal indicators, as well as in the turn indicators and high beams; they are 1.2 Watts. Osram Original Line 2721 W1.2W 12V 1.2W work for a long time
- 1 lamp (medium size) serves to indicate low gasoline level.

The first step is to lower the steering wheel to its lowest position. Next, unscrew the 2 upper screws and remove the decorative trim.

Unscrew the 3 screws that secure the dashboard.

To remove the dashboard, the cable will be in the way; we need to remove it. First you need to disconnect it from the speedometer, we didn’t succeed, our hand won’t fit through. Therefore, we first disconnected it from the box; to do this, you need to pull the retaining ring to the side and pull up the cable chip (the ring does not seem to be removed, you need to pull it more carefully).

After this, the dashboard can be pulled out more, which in turn makes it much easier for us to disconnect the cable from the speedometer.

After disconnecting the cable from the speedometer, all that remains is to disconnect all connectors and remove the dashboard.

Our version uses 3 types of light bulbs.

Four light bulbs serve to illuminate the scales and hands, in size they are similar to the light bulbs that are installed in the dimensions, with only one exception, 5-watt marker lamps (too bright and heat up too much) are also available for sale for 3-watt Narva W3W article 17097, they suit us perfectly.

Bulbs number 2 are used in signal indicators, turn indicators, and high beams. They have a power of 1.2 W and are sold almost everywhere.

Next, Light No. 3 (medium size) serves to indicate low gasoline level when the needle is already at zero. I didn’t notice it in the store, since it turns on quite rarely, which means it should work almost forever.

We conducted an experiment and purchased 3 LEDs. They are designed for the dimensions and lighting of the dashboard. The image shows the result of the experiment. The LED indicated by the checkmark is optimal for us. It gives a diffuse beam of light. LED car lamp MegaPower 10312W W5W (T10) 12V 10W.

In the operating manual for the Toyota Corolla, the fielder circuit diagram is given in separate parts. After all, the on-board network includes many devices and instruments, each of which is connected to a separate electrical circuit and is included in a separate circuit. The only common elements for all circuits and diagrams are the battery, generator and fuse box.
Most often, the driver, while driving, uses electrical indicators that are located on the instrument panel.
The electrified indicator panel is the main control and test center, without which the operation of the car is simply unthinkable. Often, a car enthusiast is confused by the blinking of one or another indicator - after all, despite the intuitive understanding of the symbols of each indicator, some of them still need to be “known by sight”

- cost-effectiveness of energy consumption, and therefore fuel, compared to power steering.

The Toyota Corolla family has several types of ignition units. They differ in that the electronics unit can be located outside or inside the distributor itself.
Main parts:
- battery;
- electronics unit;
- ignition key and lock;
- spool;
- induction sensor;
- distributor;
- wiring;
- candles.
In the latest Toyota Corolla Fielder models, engines with injectors are installed and the rest of the system is controlled by the ECM - processor. All adjustments, including angular injection advance, are made automatically. The input data of the processor is sensor data from the engine - speed of revolutions, degree of heating of the liquid in the cylinder cooling jacket and radiator, suction volume through the air filter.

The engine control system operates using a special Toyota control complex. Fuel injection is regulated using a temperature sensor in the cooling jacket, working mixture flow, oxygen concentration in the exhaust, crankshaft rotation speed, outside temperature, etc.
All obtained information is converted into a special pulse that goes directly to the control processor. Analyzing the information received, the control module sets the degree of enrichment of the working mixture during injection.
The ignition advance angle is also automatically controlled. The best angle for various operating modes is stored in the memory of the control module. Using the readings of several sensors, the control module generates special pulses, with the help of which the angular characteristic of the ignition timing is adjusted.
The most suitable crankshaft rotation speed at idle is also found in the information section of the control module. And it is a function of the degree of heating of the antifreeze in the radiator and the air conditioning mode of the car interior. Through the bypass valve, the air flow into the engine also regulates the idle speed.
The diagnostic system warns the vehicle owner about engine problems or abnormal operation using the CHECK ENGINE signal on the dashboard. A special signal is issued, it is stored by the device and subsequently must be deciphered by the number of blinks of the LED when the diagnostic connector output is short-circuited.
When a sensor fails, the algorithm starts working. This is an abnormal type of engine operation. It only allows you to get to the service station. The CH signal starts to light up on the dashboard

When starting the engine, coolant temperature sensors. The starting system processes this signal and sets the timing of fuel injection directly into the intake manifold using the starting injector. If the engine is warm, this time is measured in tenths of a second. Cold starts, especially at low temperatures, require longer fuel injection.

An automatic transmission is not controlled by traditional mechanical levers from inside the car. It obeys an electronic control unit, which, using solenoids, regulates the pressure in the oil supply devices to the hydraulic gear shift valves, thereby changing the operating modes of the box.
The input data for the valve block is the engine load, driving speed and automatic transmission operating mode. This information is supplied to execution devices - actuators.
In fully electrified gearboxes, electronic modules work instead of hydraulic sensors. Boxes with an electric processor can independently select the desired gear depending on road conditions and factors.
