Since the beginning of October 2021, Order No. 399 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation dated June 26, 2018 has been in effect, according to which you can simply replace parts that have served their purpose. On the Prado 120, not all models have a body number: until 2005, a nameplate was installed under the hood, but later they stopped writing it. There is an identification code that is located on the frame of the car and must be recorded in the vehicle title, technical passport, and customs documents. The frame number of the Prado 120 with a 4-liter engine is indicated in the same place as the code of the earlier 95 model: under the front right wheel arch. The numbers are covered with an elastic band that must be bent to see them.
VVT-i system
At the end of the second millennium, Toyota developed a new VVT-i system. She became responsible for adjusting the fuel distribution phases. This system is a mechanism that changes the position of the exhaust camshaft relative to the drive sprocket. The mechanism makes the largest rotation at 60.
The system drive is presented in the form of a rotor with blades. Before starting the engine, the rotor shaft is fixed at the latest ignition. This position ensures easy starting of the power unit. How to decipher the engine number?
The engine number is deciphered in accordance with the international standard ISO 3779. When answering the question of how many digits are in a car’s engine number, let’s pay attention to what characters make it up. These are 17 characters of numbers and letters of the Latin alphabet. Due to the similarity of the symbols I, O, Q to the numbers 1 and 0, they are not used in number combinations.

Description of exhaust and exhaust manifold design
The location of the collectors in the 1zz fr engine has been changed. The intake manifold is located in front of the engine, and the exhaust manifold is located at the rear.
