Why replace the car radio fuse on a Toyota Prius?
So, let's start our content about the location of the car radio fuse of your Toyota Prius with the interest of changing it. You may feel like you have a blown fuse, but you're not sure. It is important to know that the fuse acts as a safety device to prevent overvoltage on your Toyota Prius . This will be a resistor, a thread, more or less thick, that will allow a certain tension to be completed and which will break if the tension is too strong. Hence the fact that they are transparent, you can check them and make sure that the thread is not damaged. Generally, you will want to replace the Toyota Prius car stereo fuse when it stops working without apparent explanation . If your battery is working efficiently, the problem may be with the fuse.

Problems when paying with bank cards
Sometimes difficulties may arise when paying with Visa/MasterCard bank cards. The most common of them:
- There is a restriction on the card for paying for online purchases
- A plastic card is not intended for making payments online.
- The plastic card is not activated for making payments online.
- There are not enough funds on the plastic card.
In order to solve these problems, you need to call or write to the technical support of the bank where you are served. Bank specialists will help you resolve them and make payments.
That's basically it. The entire process of paying for a book in PDF format on car repair on our website takes 1-2 minutes.
If you still have any questions, you can ask them using the feedback form, or write us an email at [email protected]
Sometimes the morning in our Hybrid service begins like in a movie: “The morning was calm and there were no signs of trouble. But suddenly…". In the morning I received a call from a regular client:
— Sergey Nikolaevich, help, there’s trouble!.. Last night in the parking lot I forgot to turn off the interior light bulb. Today I came to the parking lot, and the car would not start - the small battery had died. I removed it from the car and charged it at home with a car charger. After this, the Prius started, but the brake system fault light was on and the brakes were slurred! I stopped by the car repair shop closest to my house to read the error number. The master said that the hydraulic booster assembly needs to be changed! HYDROBUSTER! ASSEMBLED! Help!"
We talk with Anatoly and find out that before this incident there had never been any problems with the brakes. This means that the malfunction of the hydraulic booster can be safely discarded - before it completely fails, the hydraulic booster usually “warns” the owner several times that it will soon need to be replaced. But in such cases, the error is simply reset by removing the negative terminal. Anatoly’s error is not cleared by either the scanner or the terminal.
I ask what error number was calculated in the service. To which I receive the answer: “I was so upset that I didn’t even write down the error numbers.”
Just in case, I advise Anatoly to once again check the “tightness” of all the bolts that he unscrewed to remove the battery and check that all the connectors are connected and latched. To which I receive the answer that everything has been checked more than once by him and the master at the car service center. There is nothing to do - Anatoly needs to get to us.
I recommend that he deliver the car to our service station using a tow truck, since the cause of the malfunction is unknown, and the brakes are not something to joke about. But he decides to drive the Prius under his own power in order to save money, since “there are brakes, but they are somehow incomprehensible...”
In an hour, Anatolia’s Prius is “visiting” us. Let me add that this is a Prius in body 20.
The following error appears on the instrument panel:
We connect the scanner and see the following errors:
What do you think the first error we see on the scanner means? If you don’t get into the weeds, then briefly it means that it is better to check a small battery with a load fork for serviceability. But it cannot influence the second error.
What does the second error mean? But from the second error we see that we either have no communication (connection) between the brake booster unit and the ABS control unit. Or the brake booster unit itself is faulty.
Everything falls into place: the brake booster unit is exactly the unit that has to be removed when removing a small battery. At the back there is an electrical connector, which owners usually damage when removing it.
How can an owner damage an electrical connector?
Yes, it’s elementary! To do this, when removing it, it is enough to pull not on the connector body, but on the wires coming from the connector. At the same time, they jump out of their “nests” and contact is broken. This is not an isolated case, but a widespread one.
But when we got to this connector, we didn’t even have to remove it to find the faulty wire!
Look at this photo:
It's just not buttoned! I show this connector to Anatoly. He almost starts tearing out the hair on his head out of frustration! Half a day of nerves due to your haste and inattention!
We fasten the connector and remove the error with the scanner.
That's it, the renovation is complete!
The brakes work as they should, and there are no faults on the display. Just in case, we do a test run with a lot of braking. The fault does not recur.
What remains to be added regarding this malfunction? The fact that this error often appears on Priuses after it has been “kicked into the ass.” There are a lot of electrolytic capacitors in this block, the tracks between which break under a strong impact. Restoring by soldering torn tracks helps, but this work is quite painstaking...
